  1. Now that A&M has left the Big 12, UT is pretty much our biggest rival in every sport, so I completely understand, endorse, and share this sentiment.
  2. It sucks, but I suspect you'd do the exact same thing. I know I would. Not a lot of opportunities for women's basketball coaches to make big money. You take the chance when you can. And whether anyone on this board likes it or not, Texas is a big opportunity. One that 99% of the coaching population wouldn't turn down. I wish her all the best!
  3. Scotty doesn't know.
  4. Pretty brilliant idea. They get em made in Mexico for pennies on the dollar, then sell them here for a healthy profit. Wish I had the idea. As an aside, if you're only going to wear them a few times a year to go to a game, I think they're a lot of fun!
  5. You don't? Upon what are you basing that? (I seriously just want to know, just want to be optimistic about something)
  6. With all due respect... why? Both Ohio and Utah State have better basketball and the football programs are a wash. And both have name over LALA and Ark State.
  7. I predict this game will be closest at tip off. And it won't be close after that.
  8. Seriously. Winning a conference championship then landing in a freaking PLAY-IN game... in which you almost LOST? Nothing to celebrate here! It did set up a pretty cool game for the people of Kentucky, however. UK v WKU in Louisville.
  9. Just shows how tough the Sun Belt is as a conference, top to bottom. hahahahahaa
  10. Here's what I think: This team wasn't ready for the big stage anyways. We would have gotten face-effed in the tourney. This team should be really good next year.
  11. Exactly. This was a terrible final five minutes of basketball by UNT. Unreal. At least now we've got UNT Baseball.
  12. This game showcases my pet peeve with the sport of basketball: everything is so subjective and open to interpretation that refs can literally control and dictate the outcome of every aspect of the game.
  13. This was something that I thought about earlier this year and discussed doing with another member on this board. Think it would be nice to have a coffee table book with vintage pics, too. I'd definitely be interested in being involved in making this happen.
  14. Seriously dampened the run we were on. And now the lead has been cut in half.
  15. Maybe I shouldn't watch the game at all, since I haven't yet and they seem to be doing fine without my watching assistance.
  16. If anything's going on inside the loop, I'll be there!
  17. If you find one, I'm game.
  18. No one would have predicted we'd win 5 games last year (outside this board). So who knows how good any of these teams are. Or how good we will be. What I do know is that I'll be in Houston for the UH game, Baton Rouge for the LSU game, and Denton for homecoming as well as the Tuesday night game v ULL. Sounds like a blast to me!
  19. Right. Except getting us on National Television. You know, to remind people that we still play football at the Div 1A level in Denton!
  20. I can't speak for all fans, but for me, yes. If that makes me a bad fan, oh well. I don't care a single bit about ULL, ULM, MTSU, et al. If you asked the majority of casual college football fans what division those schools were in, they'd say "D2". And they'd be wrong on several levels, but it speaks to the perception of the league. So yeah, I'd much rather play Tulsa, Rice, and UTEP than anyone in the Sunbelt, times infinity. No offense. And I understand the head to head records of the Sunbelt schools vs other conferences and all that, and I get that the league is improving, but literally no one outside the fans of schools that are members of this conference cares about any of that.
  21. I ended up in Denton because of the music program. That's it. I didn't even know UNT had a football team. I never set foot in a music building. But I left with a hell of a lot more than I could have imagined, and a good deal more than many friends who went to schools with football teams that are more fun than painful. College is what you make of it, and UNT is a great place to do that. That being said, history will always be on the side of TCU, SMU, and Vandy for the reasons you outlined. And to a similar extent, UH. That doesn't mean we can't be better than all of them. It just means it's going to take a lot of winning to change public perception. And as we have seen from all the realignment mess, we've still got a ways to go.
