  1. 3-9, 4-8... until proven otherwise.
  2. I didn't say I wanted them to have any success with said schedule... just that I'd trade a minor toe for a Mean Green schedule like that for the rest of time.
  3. That's actually a kick-ass schedule.
  4. Agreed. HEY HOW ABOUT THAT? My #1 is Texas State.
  5. Man, this move to CUSA is getting less exciting by the week. It seems if it wasn't for bad luck, lil ole UNT wouldn't have no luck at all.
  6. I gotta figure SMU goes as UH goes.
  7. They're going to tell you about the five rings. Just giving you a heads up.
  8. Mostly related to the collapse at end of season, but yes, embarrassing all the same. Spent an entire month thinking we'd have a first-round bye then watched the team collapse in the last 3 of 4 regular-season games. I know several people that had to rearrange schedules just to make it to that playoff game. Even the Monster Truck thing originally scheduled for that weekend (under assumption there was going to be a bye) had to be moved back a week. Oh well, at least we get to go back to New England.
  9. Agreed.
  10. Having done both (Cowboys and Texans), I'd agree with this statement agree. It's in the design of the stadium. Reliant is much more steep, whereas Cowboys Stadium seems to flatten out. Still a fantastic stadium in Arlington. Texans playoff games (all two of them) are a really fantastic experience and the tailgating scene at every game is absolutely first-rate. I was shocked how much effort people pour into game day. If ever stuck in Houston during a game, pick up a tailgate pass- even if you don't go to a game. People are very friendly and there are a ton of good cooks (which follows, because we're a fat city). Houston supports UH a hell of a lot better than D/FW supports SMU or NT in both attendance and with local media, but I think that is directly (and possibly exclusively) related to winning. Attendance was pretty sparse during the bad ol' days of the early 2000s. Rice doesn't draw much at all, but still a respectable crowd considering the size of the University. Can't speak to TCU regarding game day experience, as I've no first-hand experience, but I imagine the attendance dwarfs every other college in the D/FW and Houston area. Also, tailgating at North Texas is a hell of a lot better than U of H. We'll see how they improve things with the addition of the new stadium. HS football in both cities is extremely popular and well-attended. Hopefully our quality of education from top to bottom will soon follow suit.
  11. I'm a North Texas fan, thank you. Which is not exactly a glamorous title. But it's where I CHOSE to go to school. It wasn't a backup plan. It's where my money goes. It's where my heart lies. I find it strange our alleged super fans are posting topic after topic fawning over the Aggies, but hey, maybe that's just the Mean Green in me.
  12. Because somehow this has turned into the North Aggie board where myopia reigns supreme.
  13. It's depressing we aren't even included in these talks. Not even so much as a mention. I'm not sure what we can even do about it, other than win.
  14. They are 11-2. And if you guys think going 11-2 and winning the Cotton Bowl is the pinnacle of college football, you really are Aggie fans.
  15. So what? LSU beat that Alabama team IN TUSCALOOSA last year. There's no National Title by Proxy.
  16. Agreed... but we'd surely go as well, if invited, right?
  17. Yeah, but we passed A&M in 1999 because we beat Texas Tech and they beat A&M. So really, we're already ahead of everyone. Have been for about 13 years. Honestly, surprised we didn't get the SEC invite. Because that's exactly how college football work.
  18. I know you wish this to be true. It just isn't. I don't know if you think A&M is some workin' man's hero of a program that has been "held down by the man", but they're still one of the "evil elites" - their budgets are still obscene compared to the "little guys" (us)... just like UT. The difference is, A&M spent 14 years doing less with more than almost any program in the nation. And then blamed it on Texas. Which is why people call them the little brother. It indeed appears they finally turned the corner. Which as I have said several times is great for them. And I love the move to the SEC! But this idea they've "passed UT by" based on one season and a fifth place finish in the SEC is comical and delusional.
  19. I think 90% of Aggies (made up arbitrary stat) thought they'd have a hard time competing this year. And let's be honest, without Manziel- the X-factor- they might only have been a 6-8 win club. Or they might have still been good. Who knows. But good on them for grabbing the kid and Sumlin- who I've always thought to be a great coach- for putting him in a position to succeed. This is the best staff A&M has had in decades, if not ever. I also think leaving the shadow of Texas was a great move for them- if they could win. And you know what? They did. I mock the stupid reasons Aggies cited for leaving, not the act itself. Why not just say it's a better deal for the A&M program and move on? Why must they constantly bemoan the Longhorns with each and everything thing they do? They largely bring the Little Brother thing upon themselves. And maybe now they've finally shaken free of it. I've got a lot of happy A&M alums that I consider great friends. That's all I really care about with respects to any of this trivial nonsense. (Says the guy who has posted more on this thread than he did in all of 2012). Holla.
  20. Okay, let's be friends again.
  21. As far as I know (thanks in no small part to my previously-noted extraordinary ability to utilize search engines), SEC teams retain their Tier III rights, just as in the Big XII. Which, if I were a thinking man- and I fancy myself one, from time to time - might lead me to believe that the whole "we're leaving because of The Longhorn Network (UT's third-tier money deal)" was a load of hot garbage, sour grapes, or some other expression that stops just short of the end result of a cow's dinner. But now they get to be a part of a "family." And really, can you put a price on family?
  22. I'm actually good at a lot of things. Unfortunately, you missed the point.
  23. Well I have a sister, mother, aunt and girlfriend who are all UT alums (several times over). So should I take issue with your use of
  24. Emmitt and Rick, sittin' in a tree, G-I-G 'EM I-N-G.
