  1. there was an article about the Troy donor as well on ESPN.com Troy Quotes of note: and then and then on academic perception based on athletic production...
  2. Well we paid about $2000 for 2 slabs of driveway (each 10 foot sections). I meant in a relative sense, not that much. Of course I realize it wouldnt be a $1500 job, but I dont operate with the same budget as NT's athletic department. I guess if there is the plan to build a stadium in the next 3-4 years, then it might be a waste of money. For the mean time however, it would be nice to have the stadium we currently use to look half decent. Especially since I anticipate a near-record attendance average next season. Then again, maybe we want fouts to look rough so that potential donors can see the urgency of getting the new stadium
  3. agreed, that couldnt cost that much. It looks so ghetto right now
  4. hmmm, this sounds like a perfect time for NT to have a good BBall program, huh?
  5. hahahahaha riiiight... What is tech bringing to the big12? they have to replace their QB and their best RB in years. I could see OU winning the Big12 next year though. Oh and before Vince, Texas wasnt't winning 9-10 games a year. Before Vince they weren't blowing people out at home openers.... Oh wait, they were. Our best effort in a decade+ netted us a 27-0 loss. Impressive. They still have a killer defense. They have an O-line that will allow all four of those RB's to eat us alive. If I were DD, I would blitz all day long from every angle. Make whoever the new QB is beat us with his arm, and make sure he is NEVER comfortable back there. Our only chance to win this game comes from having a solid defense, and I have seen nothing to indicate our defense will be much improved by next year. Hope I am wrong. It would also help to have the JT from freshmen year again
  6. I actually agree with you Rudy! haha I think they should play this angle all the time with what we are building here. Some people like to go to well established programs where its already all been done, and all you have to do is play your part. Others like to step out a little and do something different, take a chance and help it BECOME something great. I think we probably have a lot for guys like that already, but Id love to see us bring in some more.
  7. that is awesome. At first I was gonna say that if I had a business idea that somehow netted me a cool billion $, I could see myself donating a lot of money to various things, inlcuding NT's athletics. Then I had another thought, so here's my HSO: Assuming there are still people who want to go to college and cant afford to do so, how many students could $160 million educate? Not trying to bring up the debate on athletics funding vs academics, etc. Just a thought...
  8. Think this will hurt his draft stock? Another thug story
  9. thanks for posting, great article. keep it up women!
  10. I dont understand this at all either. What is going on? Whats the rationalization? I guess I just dont understand how DD & Co. do their recruiting. Its embarassing to not have a single recruit on these lists
  11. the $500 mill also includes academic facilities on the campus. article either way, great for them. So can we call people who are fans of OkState bootlickers now?
  12. The sky is falling the sky is falling! This is so dramatic and so off-base. To say that UT winning the national championship has any effect on NT's attendance is silly. Going 2-9 playing crappy teams is what affects attendance. Stop blaming the stupid longhorns for the problems in our own backyard.
  13. exactly. what an embarassment. Of course, with the mind-numbing banter going on in the football forum, I can only assume this was an intentional attempt to rile people up. Cute. Im sure they were all giggling as they posed. "this is going to be sooooo funny tomorrow" On a positive note, I am glad you guys went out and tailgated before the game, and I am excited to see the men keep winning games. Hoping for a really good run this year, and perhaps a tourney bid!
  14. without question the freudian p.e. being displayed by our fans. For a bunch of people that talk about how much the could care less about UT, many of these posts tell a different story. Lets move on, there are a lot of good things going on in the Mean Green Nation
  15. Um, I dont think we should pick a QB based on how he can take a hit. I think I would rather have a guy who can throw the ball with some accuracy
  16. I liked this one:
  17. and everyone knows that you hate the University of Texas. So I guess I should go ahead and tell you to 'get over it', because it is equally annoying.
  18. rumor is that the Texans might be able to get a few first and second round picks in exchange for Bush. If that is a the case, I wouldnt take Bush or Leinart. Young would be intriguing if he came out, given the fact he grew up in Houston. But I dont see him coming out this year. He improved dramatically in his passing game from 2004 to 2005. Another year could do wonders for his draft stock as a QB. And I wouldnt say the Texans are set on keeping Carr as their main guy. Granted the O-line has been abysmal, he hangs on to the ball too long and makes a lot of bad throws.
  19. baaaahhh baaaaahhh the bad calls went both ways. Of course, you wont hear anyone grilling the refs like they did the sunbelt.
  20. That or we could go in there and play our asses off and give it the best that we can.
  21. dont bother with rebuttle? haha I guess the mighty emmitt, knower of all has spoken. I guess from now on I will just wait til emmitt posts and base my opinion accordingly, then I dont ever have to worry about being wrong. we get it, you hate UT. VY has one of the greatest performances in CFB history, and the first thing you do is come on here and spout your negativity. I cant wait til NT starts winning again. The tone on this board sucks.
  22. heard. except that Texas' cheerleaders arent exactly roots. I know from experience... (billy madison moment)
  23. Are you related to him?
  24. Agreed. It goes both ways. Recruits like to play in front of lively crowds. They feed off the energy and the support. They want to go places where they have that support. Fans like to watch teams win. They open up check books when they feel like a program is heading in the right direction, or is "bearing fruit". Winning is the fruits of the labor. Neither is mutually exclusive. We need both. The biggest thing we can do as fans is to show up.
  25. Dick Tomey was the DC last year. he is now the head coach at San Jose State. Gene Chizik is the coordinator now, He came from Auburn
