I dont think SMU is or ever should be the benchmark by which we measure any of our success. Its apples and oranges comparing NT and SMU. The only thing we have in common with them is that we are in the same part of Texas. In other words, who cares what SMU does?

Id like one, but with updated colors... not a big fan of the late 80's/early 90's spring break airbrush fluorescents...

I imagine we will sell the majority of our allotment. Anyone who buys these tickets is an idiot anyways, as you can usually go to the stadium an hour before the game and find season ticket holders selling their tix or giving them away. And many alumns will be making the trip the next weekend for the Ohio State game in Austin, so it may not be AS packed as one might think. Either way, I will be there to watch the streak end sept 2nd!

I think the top show in the 3-7 time slot is probably Russ Martin The hardline has got some stuff though. I always enjoyed the ticket when I was in Dallas. I usually spent 3-7 flipping back and forth between them and Russ. As far as content, I get beaten down when people do nothing but 'sports talk'. I enjoy the "schtick". I was rarely up early enough for the Musers, but I thought they were pretty good as well. Glad to see them out at NT!

I dont know what the reason is for having the spring game on a thursday night, but I can guarantee I, and many others, would make it up to a Saturday evening game if it was a gameday atmosphere, with tailgating, etc. That would be worthwhile to me. As is, a Thursday night game is hard for people to make that live in the metroplex, much less outside of it, like myself and many others on this board. I dont know about the effectiveness of your suggestions, madhatter, but I do think its great you are posting things like this on the board to get peoples minds working as to what we can do to help promote our school. It is something we, the constituents must own up to, I agree with RV 100% on that.

I see where you are going, and I wouldnt. Those are strong accusations based on very little, if anything... just my opinion

what is the point of this post? Couldnt cant we just cut and repaste these posts? I mean there have been about 78 variations of it in the past 3 months... Agree or disagree, the coaching staff we have will be in place until at least next year. We can constantly complain and beat the deadest of horses, or we can spend more time highlighting the positives (you know, since it IS recruiting season) That, to me, was the point of the original poster

VY and RB are both juniors. And even if they were seniors, Im sure their agents would advise them not to participate. They dont have anything to prove. When you are a sure top 5 pick, you wouldnt want to screw up that opportunity playing in an otherwise meaningless game

I think our uniforms look great. I like the all green, and the helmets dont bother me. I wish we had the new eagle logo on them but that is a tired, dead argument So nealy is going to try to go pro as a WR? I thought maybe he could be a back up QB in the NFL. Hes got a good arm and pretty good mobility

Ok its an "attempting to emerge" program. Its kind of like how there are no longer any "third world countries", just developed and "developing nations". Call it whatever you want, my point was, it seems like RV has done a decent job turning around programs so I dont know why it would be odd to some of you that other schools would have interest. ULL would be a lateral move at best. Thats why I dont think it would/will happen.

what? isnt that the demographic NT athletics is going after? Im not suprised that a KLUV woman listener or DJ wouldnt know much about sports, or what programs NT has. Its not sexism, its common sense. Women dont follow sports like men do. There are exceptions, but the majority care very little. Its disturbing when someone who lives in the market doesnt know that the team exists, but she probably represents a very small minority. There are people in the Houston area that dont even know NT exists as a school much less a football program. Thats a bigger concern to me.
