  1. yeah and the only way that is going to happen is if Rice drops football. Otherwise, CUSA will continue to enjoy having a prestigious university with an outstanding baseball team in their conference.
  2. yeah thats what Houston thought in the Fort Worth bowl, but look how that turned out! And houston would have cleaned our clocks last year.
  3. probably wont happen, but Id love to see Houston or even TCU,NMSU on the schedule
  4. kind of my thoughts as well... I only saw the USA game but he frustrated me the entire game
  5. and when was the last time that stopped us from making one?
  6. Funny site!
  7. they might beat maryland and should be tennessee tech... louisville and South Carolina will be tough, OU will be a rout. Very similar to some our schedules a few years ago
  8. A friend forwarded this to me the other day... pure greatness. Its going to be a movie, from what I understood I think your assessment of the uptown dallas scene is fantastic. So very true.
  9. blah blah blah... I thought the game was pretty lousy, save a trick play, a rothlisberger pass, and the 75 yd run play. The lameness of that Dr Suess bit at the beginning of the game was only surpassed by the awfulness of that national anthem arrangement. I was pretty underwhelemed from the the get-go, and my otherwise indifference was only reinforced with the lousy play on the field. Having strong foresight, and assuming this was a likely scenario, I had a cooler of miller lite on hand and it did not disappoint. Seldom does
  10. I think this is hilarious. Pure stupidity. If its true, A&M deserves anything they get. I love all the aggies that commented on that article- so typical. What a tough year for the aggies... Seattle getting all the pub for the 12th man thing, 5-6 season with no bowl game, then UT wins the national championship to top it off. Im not sure what the definition of "rock-bottom" is, but it seems that this latest "gem" could quickly put them there.
  11. if we could run the zone-read with Wilson even half as well as Texas did it with VY, we could win several games next year. But thats a big "if". I would like to see some variant. Pretty much anything that is exciting and effective would be welcommed!
  12. I assume this is a reference to the one on SMU's campus, and not the one at ACU?
  13. ding ding ding seems to me like its a way to hang on to kids just in case you might need them, and if not, you can let them go. I think a gray shirt sounds shady...
  14. Ok, well yea for Troy!
  15. actually this is just completely wrong. O-Line men are usually the smartest players on the field (along with QB's) and as it turns out, they are generally the largest men on the field.
  16. I dont know, but with the exception of troy, all of our games are within driving distance. this is a good schedule for us. We'll see what the 12th game ends up being... I think it will be another money game though
  17. Im not excited about it at all. I think its laughable that someone would take a greyshirt over a scholarship and a shot at starting at another D1 program. But thats my opinion. Im guessing he had his reasons, among them had to be a chance to play against his brother in the Big12 North division. Just a thought. So for that, I say good luck with all that. I agree with the sentiments of Lifer and Emmitt, I dont understand why we put all our eggs in one kids basket. thats 2 years in a row for 2 Big12 schools.
  18. even so, i wish him well. pretty tough call, taking a grey shirt over a almost guaranteed eventual starting spot at another Div 1 school.
  19. Well we didnt win a single game at home, so I cant say I am suprised that we had poor attendance. we should average more than 20k next year. The SMU game alone should pack fouts. I expect La Tech to draw a large crowd as well. Winning would help, but thats a given. Attendance also increases as you play teams people recognize. I think Houston and Rice (and to some extent, SMU) actually have it worse than us. They are right in the middle of a major city that has several competing venues right down the street. Thats never easy. At least we are 40 miles away from the metroplex. And worse, Rice and SMU have much lower student enrollment than NT or UH. The only thing they (C-USA schools) have over us is the fact that they play schools people in Texas have actually heard of.
  20. I think its hard to get a big group of people who work 40-50 hours a week out to a 7pm game on a thursday night (and many if not most of our alumns fall in that category). Also many alums live out of the DFW area. I expect a larger crowd Saturday. Looking forward to the game
  21. great idea, great initiative! Im coming up from Houston for the game, gonna drag out some friends as well. Hope its a good one.
  22. I wouldnt throw too many stones... Ive heard all kinds of things that went on inside that awful motel yall used to be housed in that were just as questionable as anything that happened in the KA house. Seems yall, as well as every other fraternity at NT, have had their fair share of issues. Its also a common misconception that KA is nothing but racists. Robert E Lee's is considered a founder (though Im not sure he was a member),he was a big part of their founding and I believe he was also the president of the univeristy where KA was founded, so it would make sense to have a statue of him in their house. In fact, several fraternities had founding fathers that fought on BOTH sides of the war-- well at least the ones that have been around long enough... Of course this thread has inevitably now derailed... sorry. I like the Ticket. I like Russ Martin. Those are the only things I listen to when in Dallas. I also enjoy 610 here in Htown... Im about beaten to death with Vince Young/Texans talk but I like the guys on the afternoons.
  23. This is a great point that carries a lot of weight coming from you, Quinn + Boner = Quoner
  24. You would think, but perhaps this goes back to last minute planning. Although, I dont imagine it could take much more than a $150 and that arduous drive from the Pit to the Sack and Save to load up a truck with several cases of cokes and bottles of water. Perhaps I am missing something?
