you should just put this part in your signature line, as it seems that every single one of your posts includes your campaign to stop playing BCS teams. Problem is, your big 12 model for success based on KState doesnt work because we play a powder puff conference slate. If we need 1AA games to take a break from our "brutal" conference schedule, we should probably just mail it in altogether the problem isnt who we play (from a SOS standpoint), the problem is how prepared (or not prepared) our players are for those games. last years schedule was great. we should have been competitive in all but 1 or 2 of those games

Oh Emmitt, I did it all because I am a big 12 apologist. and I love UT with every part of my being. Vince Young is my personal savior. Ive been writing Bob Mc Nair and Charley Casserly almost every day begging them to take Vince. When Texas won the national championship, I ran as fast as I could to hop on to that bandwagon. I used to stay up every night wondering whether mack was going to play Simms or Applewhite. Too bad Im not still in college or I would wear my UT shirt to class as much as possible. Wait- I guess that would make me a Texas State student... give me a break, it was just a joke about A&M. Making fun of aggies is always funny to me. Im probably not alone here, but I would venture to say that most people who went to college in Texas outside of collie station feel the same way... eat em up cats!

Oh good god our mean green board has been turned into an A&M board (cause UT surely isnt OUR biggest rival)... I guess I'll play along then. So what if UT beats us in EVERY SINGLE SPORT year in and year out, but thats ok, our recent bout of mediocrity has allowed us to develop a hell of a rivalry with Texas Tech. problem is, Jub Jub is about as athletic as VY is intelligent... I know of two guys that could tackle Vince Young in the open field- Chuck Norris and Mike Ditka. No question. So VY isnt superman... he's pretty close.

I dont know, but I was really excited to read that news, and the prospects of us having a team as early as 2007... I think that will help our case nicely if/when conference realignments come up again.

I'll subscribe to this theory over the conspiracy theory. Takes time to turn the barge that is NT's public perception. And I think we are on the right track. I, like many of you, want it now. So I donate money. I invite friends to games. Its as much as I feel I can do to directly impact athletics at this point in time.

seems our basketball team has the oposite problem as some of our previous football seasons. hot start, cold finish. rough season for all sports. at this point I just want something, anything to be excited about.

sounds good to me, cause I dont think anyone can hang with the most boring (and the most bored) team in the league, Los Spurs. They always kick it in during the playoffs, and I see little reason why they wouldnt do it again. Dirk needs to play like a 7 footer. Thats part of the mavs problem, IMO

who cares if VY is dumb or not. I wouldnt exactly call our football team a Mensa convention, but maybe you all know something I dont. Every single person on this board would have traded 4 scholarships to have VY playing for us--- if not, I must be missing something. And spare me with the "Id rather have someone who really wanted to be here" bit... The haves get what they want while the have-nots scrape for everything else... this is (unfortunately) not a new phenomenon. Its a raw deal, but you can thank the BC$ for it. College football is big business. Lots of $$$ made on all these players and you can bet schools will do ANYTHING they can to keep them eligible. We should be so lucky as to have that problem here. Also, I know this may be hard for everyone to believe, but it is possible some of the non-BCS schools participate in illegal activities as well. Its not just the big meanies in the BCS. Prairie View A&M isnt exactly Harvard, so its not hard to believe their student athletes didnt register 1520's on their SATs and may have a hard time making the grade in college...

I dont think the mavs can beat the spurs or the suns in a series in the playoffs, and for that reason, I dont think this is the year for the mavs... in the last month, they have gotten down by 20+ at home to 2 bad teams... granted they won one of them, great teams dont get down by that many points to inferior teams. To have any hope of a successful post season, Dirk has to show up, because he certainly didnt last year

I dont know what to tell you. we already play 7+ games that many would consider that equivalency of div1aa programs. I dont know why we need more. We need to be in C-USA so we play more relevant teams that have more appeal to fans and players. We need a new stadium to bring more relevant OOC games to Denton which will in turn increase attendance which makes Denton a more exciting place for recruits. And we need a coach that doesnt lay down and die when game planning OOC games.

I stopped reading after this part, because it is obvious you have never read any of my posts over the last year. I hate the status quo and I actually believe NT will do big things in the future. I do not enjoy UNT's relative mediocrity in the least. I just dont agree with your one step/two step theory because I think it is wrong. Its that simple. Its not because I dont understand it, I just think it is a flawed method for getting NT where we would like it. The fact that you say we wouldnt even be ranked in the top 20 among Div 1AA teams invalidates your call to schedule these teams, in my opinion. If that is true, why would you want to expose that by losing to one of them? A loss is not a loss. Losing to Texas State or some other Texas 1AA team hurts FAR worse for recruiting and national image than losing to OU, Texas, or even Tulsa for that matter... at least our players get to play on a big stage in some of those games. This will blow your mind, so hang on to your seat--- I actually expect us to be competitive in all of those games in the future. I know, its absurd. If you still think playing 1AA teams will take us to this mythical promised land where the rivers flow with chocolate and unicorns play in candy fields under the rainbow sky, more power to you. I just dont agree with that sentiment at all.

Id be interested in making those my own... have to wait a couple days, see what kind of bids they get.
