  1. I think this will end up being a non-issue. He will likely be suspended from playing NCAA football for a year, who knows after that. I dont see how he could go unscathed after all of this.
  2. I think it was just the ironic nature of the post that made it funny, as untgirl pointed out. Plus, everyone on the gomeangreen bored is pretty board and ready four the season too start.
  3. this is all I could find... Nathan Tune 6-4 190 Celina Celina TX
  4. "wow their stupid" = my favorite post of the year.
  5. newest report has him possibly enrolling at Texas State...
  6. I met a coach from McNeese St a few months back at an Astros game. He was talking about this kid saying he was a bona fide stud, and that they were trying to recruit him until NT and a few other Div 1A's stepped into the picture. Hoping for big things from him.
  7. I love the idea. Why allow all the UT fans to fill up our sliver of the endzone? And if they want to do it, we should make some money off of it. I understand the reservation for the non-season ticket holders and those that live out of town. I dont live in the DFW area, and will probably only be able to make 2-3 games in Denton, but I bought a couple season tix anyways. I understand not everyone can do that, but its a great way to help out the athletic department. As I understood it, they would sell tix to the public after the students, season tix holders, etc had purchased theirs... is this not the case? I think you can get on a waiting list. And they can break up your MGC donation into 9 payments, drafted out of your bank account. That works out to about $27.78 per month for a $250 donation...
  8. thanks for the info... which hotel is it? I stayed in one right by the practice fields (off I-35) last year, seems like it was pretty cheap and not too far from the stadium. It wasn't the classiest joint, but what the hey
  9. So what happened with you and UT? Just curious...
  10. yeah it is. I wear my NT stuff as much as possible, just doing my part to advance familiarity with my alma mater On the way home Sunday cruising down I 45 I passed somebody with the new 'North Texas' sticker (the white one they send out with season tix) on their truck. Made me happy. Probably sounds lame to fans of other schools, but its such a rarity around here. You never even see us mentioned in the Houston Chronicle. Good news per RV, all the football games will be broadcast on some station down here again this year.
  11. give me one instance in college football where rotating QB's has worked well.
  12. hey, we mean green fans are a classy bunch! Its all Beaujolais, caviar and Perrier over here I dragged the girlfriend up for the festivities Saturday and we enjoyed it. Got to meet a few of the players and spoke with RV for a little while. Was very encouraged by the things he had to say. He also indicated they would be having some sort of similar function in Houston next year for all the Houston-area alumns. Great job, athletics department! Glad I made the trip
  13. Im gonna throw out an HSO here. We will have a good chance at the upset for this game. Adrian Peterson will leave after this year. Rhett Bomar is gone. The starting QB this year is a 5th year senior. 2007 should be one of our better teams under DD (assuming he is still here...)
  14. what if the NT Daily ran a feature before the season started listing everyone in the conference, and "why you should care when we play this team"? May sound stupid, but it would at least give someone something to think about when considering going to the game against UL-whoever I still believe our games would average well over 20k, regardless of our record, if we were in C-USA. Dont underestimate the effect familiarity with a program has on attendance.
  15. what makes this idiot think anyone in the Sun Belt would want a kid who was caught CHEATING, who got caught drinking at a basketball game, and another incident at a party? He's been in Norman for 2 years and already managed to rack up more negative pub than most kids do in an entire career!
  16. Ive always been a fan of self-deprecating humor.
  17. well, the NCAA has been notified, and will be conducting an investigation as to the extent of the offenses. I wouldnt say they are out of the clear just because the kicked a few people off. This thing may end up being a much bigger deal. News JUST broke on this, so dont write off the NCAA just yet... and Im not being an apologist, Im just wary of jumping... to conclusions. Its a jump... to conclusions mat. I digress...
  18. Man, that SUCKS. I imagine my roommate is NOT happy right now. The OU football program should probably distance themselves from that car dealership. Just a thought... And seriously, Id love to feel bad for the guys, but as coach bob said, they should know what they can and cant do. pure stupidity and poor judgement. Bomar seems to posses quite a penchant for such behavior... oh, and...
  19. love his attitude, want to see more of it! I love the underdog mentality. Hope it proves to be infectious!
  20. Agree 100%! Even with the increase, our rates are still on-par with (or lower than) the other large institutions in the state. I'm all for anything that helps shake the commuter image.
  21. I love the Texas State jab at the end of the article:
  22. doping in cycling? Oh the humanity! is there nothing sacred? me and the 23 other Americans that follow the Tour de France were truly heart-broken when this news broke...
  23. this is what I have wished for NT since the first day I stepped foot on campus, and it is what I will work to see happen in any way I can! Call it ignorance, but I dont think its impossible. Good to hear it from the higher-ups sounds like a cool event, wich I could have made it, but that whole "lives in Houston" thing kind of prevents that...
