  1. oh that is outstanding! I applaud the effort!
  2. I got taunted by NMSU fans the last time we played them/beat their asses. I thought it was funny. They were like "we're going to the WAC, yall suck" Of course I didnt know it then, but he was right. Their WAC debut was a smashing success.
  3. what is the goal post talk? did they (attempt to) take down the goal posts after a win over a 1AA program?
  4. wow what an impressive win for their program. wonder how their fans will feel about making it 0-fer 6 against UNT this year...
  5. also important to note is that the average SAT score of UNT freshmen has also increased (while the national level decreased). we arent just adding bodies, we are bringing in higher-quality students
  6. no kidding. "They stop buy there tailgate area." their parents would be proud.
  7. yeah it was... got a great one coming up this saturday as well. LSU/Auburn in a top 10 matchup. TCU/Tech. Got WV on tonight, if you havent seen them play, they are a fun team to watch, and every bit deserving of their ranking.
  8. SMU is a terrible team, plain and simple, and yet they were still one dropped TD pass, a healthy running back, and a couple stupid personal fouls away from actually making a close game of that one. If we show up to Tulsa- for the ENTIRE game- this could have all the makings of a great season. In summation, the Tulsa and the Akron games are a better measure of our progress, and what we can expect out of this season, than the tools from the hilltop. That being said, It was good to see the playbook opened up. Much more exciting game to watch. Still sick of the draw play that NEVER works. Get Jamario to the outside, thats where he has always been best

  10. not sure this is really sports related, and it's almost certainly destined to be closed once political conversations erupt, but there are many people that believe there are threats within our borders right now. kinda scary...
  11. i dont see what the problem is, the guy obviously wanted it more
  12. seriously. the more I look at it, the more I think "that is one of the ugliest logos I have ever seen"
  13. this is the stat that needs to bring everyone back to reality. SMU win was great, but they are a mediocre squad- at best. We will have our hands full. Our offense is far from impressive. It has shown flashes of greatness, but we still have a lot of work to do if we want to win out... or win the belt.
  14. yes, the comments are quite humorous, I rather enjoyed this one:
  15. SMU will punish SHSU on the ground. They were gaining 5-6 yards a carry on our guys in the first half, I guarantee you they can wear down the bearkats defense and break a few long ones. I think ASU will beat them the following week, however, which will pretty much ensure Bennett will be looking for employment elsewhere this spring.
  16. oh, my bad. well... ummm... yeah... so... that's kind of a dramtic thread, isnt it? SMU not in Div 1A after losing to NT? Could it be possible we are just a better team? Or does it just have to be that SMU is terrible? Perhaps a combination of both... anways, not to jack the thread... board downtime could mean good things for my employer.
  17. ready whenever you are...
  18. Houston LOVED running up the score on people. I forgot how good UH was during those years (mostly because I was like 8 years old) with Ware at the helm, before everyone figured out the Run n Shoot. 1989 Houston 95, SMU 21 1988 Houston 82, Tulsa 28 1988 Houston 66, Texas 15 1989 Houston 61, Rice 0 then there was that total beat-down, 1968 Houston 100, Tulsa 7
  19. Wow. That IS impressive. Even coming from NW Houston the best I managed was 3:15, Houston to Denton. Agree here 100%. I love that we have classy fans, I hope this is something that continues. It is a credit to the type of student who attends NT, which is a positive reflection of our university. I tried to say hello, or have casual conversation with every SMU fan I met. Most were very pleasant in return.
  20. I heard it started to fill up once everyone heard SMU was actually making a game of it...
  21. before this goes down this path of despair, into depths of utter beat-down oblivion over all the perceived in justices we have had to bear for the last 10, 15, 20, 25 years, let me say that not everyone hates SMU. I have a brother that is currently a student at SMU and I have heard nothing but good things about his professors and the campus in general. some of the people I have encountered from SMU have admittedly sucked, but the same can be said about many institutions in this great state. I want to beat SMU because it is a regional rival, a C-USA opponent, and an out of conference game. It is also the first step towards a winning season. If given the choice, I'd take probably a loss to SMU and a win over any Big 12 team, as I just dont view SMU as a "big deal". no offense. I will let everyone who is more qualified speak to the hate that apparently missed me (as well as everyone else I know) while in school from 99-03.
  22. RV seemed to believe we would be breaking ground on a new stadium in 24-25 months... might be cutting it close.
  23. your colostomy bag is fine- it's all coming out of your mouth.
  24. ha, he is not going to get fired in the middle of the season. he probably wont get fired at the end of the season. who are you going to hire? how will you pay them? According to CFO magazine, our Athletic Department lost 3.1 mill last year, which is good for 4th in the country. I imagine much of that is from all the development, but still...
  25. good point. However I would contend that if you had to play the likes of U-La-La, U-La-Mo, one of the F_U's, or MTSU every year, your attendance would suffer as well. We bring a decent-sized crowd to games where we play teams anyone cares about. I suppose at this point you counter with "well, y'all have more students" and then I say "well, NT is 40 miles from Dallas, whereas SMU is right in the middle of it", and so on and so forth.
