  1. yeah they screwed it up. My dad called and was like "hey, all of our teams won today" and I told him I thought we had lost. He had read the same score from the ticker so I thought maybe I was wrong. Unfortunately I was right.
  2. I dont know about all those sources, but RV himself told me that we would field a baseball team in the 2008-2009 season. I dont know if I need one of these to share that info. Or you could just ask him, its no secret
  3. The fact that he fired dickey early leads me to believe he does not have someone in mind. Regarding the timing, I think its perfect. got us plenty of pub, gives us plenty of time to find another guy to jump right into recruiting, and gives dickey an opportunity to put himself on the market.
  4. I see your point, perhaps the lapses just stuck out more in my mind I think I was sitting right behind you guys, on the 3rd row. Good to see fellow mean green faithful! I couldnt find anyone that wanted to go to the game with me, so I had to go solo!
  5. Wow. 0-fer against FAU. I dont know what's worse- that record or the fact that a guy at the Rice game last night asked, "now, does north texas also have a football team?"
  6. I went to the game last night and I enjoyed watching our team Couple scattered thoughts... I think the uniforms look great. Wooden was pretty ineffective. We didnt have an answer to their big man. Williams had moments, but we need a dominant force down low. Sturns played some good defense, had a couple good shots. Pretty disappointed with our free throw shooting. Calvin Watson was on FIRE. Some of the 3's he hit were several feet behind the line! Rice is a scrappy team. They played tough D all night and gave our guys fits inside This might have been one of the most poorly officiated games I have ever seen, both ways. We got some terrible calls, and several went against us. Everyone around me seemed pretty frustrated it This was the first game i had seen since last year's home game with south alabam... team looks to be a lot better
  7. wow. thanks for that this morning! guess im gonna have to try to make some games this year
  8. there are 33,500 students at NT. I thought the Greek's joke was funny. I like to eat paste. I like RV too. Go UNT.
  9. I say we win by 4. Players will be pumped, last home game for J-Quinn and DD... no reason to not finally get the FAU monkey off our backs
  10. YES. its both. its support for DD, its his name in the papers. For mac, its a win-win (in his mind).
  11. thought it was 7... is this different?
  12. this is a stupid closing remark, partly because it doesnt really say anything, and also it makes a lot of assumptions. Well, maybe so, but the question is, "do you think someone else would do a better job given similar opportunity" and many of us, including Rick and Dr Bataille feel like the answer is "yes".
  13. agreed, this seems to be a really great thing. could this springboard the stadium project? be interesting to see where this donation is directed
  14. hey this is GREAT. This is the first time I have seen NORTH TEXAS mentioned in the Houston area (with anything more than a passing breath) in pretty much my entire life.
  15. one MIIIIIIIIIIIILION dollars... no? ok. just trying to lighten the mood of this place...
  16. just take Reggie Bush! trust me, its not worth the PR nightmare
  17. in the name of love?
  18. I do too. Should make it really interesting for the media once we are 5-7. ha.
  19. Give me the Oklahoma State guy over Dodge
  20. I think we also have a football game and a basketball game this weekend, so everyone in Houston and Dallas should have a way to get their 'mean green fix' this weekend.
  21. here we go. got anything to support this claim? Or are you just trying to stir up the pot?
  22. This is probably the best thing to come out of all of this. It shows Rick has not wavered in his commitment to bring a competitive football team to NT, and the more people that recognize this the better.
  23. ooooh they have an insider on that board as well... oops, forgot the:
  24. I dunno, Im of the opinion that as a sports writer you should be pretty knowledgable of what is going on just up the road from the city where you are employed, at a Division 1 university surrounded by a somewhat controversial firing and an overly dramatic donor- or at least know enough to say anything besides "I think a 5A team could beat them..." but maybe I just expect too much by expecting anything at all Better than half of those kids will probably never see another football field, and a tiny percentage will actually get to play in Div 1A football. Its a stupid statement no matter how you look at it. IF north texas offered Todd Dodge a coaching job, there is no doubt he would take it. How many coaches have the opportunity to go become a head coach at a college straight from a highschool, much less a Div 1 program just 30 miles away?
  25. yeah the campus isnt that big, should be easy to find. Ive been to the football stadium a few times, but never the basketball so Im looking forward to it. Speaking of, Rice could become bowl-eligible for the first time in I dont even know how long that day at home so it could be pretty busy around the campus with a football game at 2 and a basketball game at 7
