Actually its more like the Big 12 champ goes to the Fiesta Bowl as that is their BCS tie-in. So whoever won the Big 12 would have played Boise State, which happened to be OU (largely thanks to A&M).

well yeah, we dont mind sharing I think BS-U could make a pretty decent game out of it. Its one of the few BCS bowls I have interest in watching and wouldnt mind seeing the Blue Turf Bandits take one for non bcs schools. That would put non bcs schools at 2-0 in BCS bowls. I don't think next year's game in Norman will be close at all, but I have been wrong before...

Texas State fans bashing North Texas might be the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I guess it's the fact that we are an actual university that offers more than communications degrees and river rafting doctorates that gets them riled up. Granted, our student body is comprised of more than just "students who couldn't get into UT", so they've got us there. We do however own a 29-7-3 record against them. And yes, Dodge was our #1 all along.

Id love to see the new eagle (full eagle, not just head) logo on the helmet, but I dont see it happening and I am content with the North Texas. I'd really like to see that interlocking NT I have seen on peoples avatars, but understand that isnt even an option

not to be downer, but who really cares what anyone at SMU, TCU, Salsa Tech, or Enchilada State think? Our constant obsession with what everyone else thinks makes us look small time! SMU went 0-5 against Div1A opponents from the state of texas last year. They have no room to talk about anything.

I just read this a few minutes ago. The whole article is all about Southlake, with any mention of North Texas limited to a couple digs This is just an asinine statement. If someone can explain to me how a Div 1 coaching job is any step but forward, I'd love to hear it.

At the Houston/Southern Miss game, the band performed "Ridin Dirty" Chamillionaire. Only in H-town... Anyways, I've lost everyone over the age of 30, and probably several younger so back to the topic at hand... I like the polo shirt idea, as i like some level of uniformity and a show of respect for the fans and the university that you will later represent. Really, we just need to get more fans inside the stadium, but some good music would certainly help, and the ones emmitt listed are a good start!

I think you have to go with the new kelly green. I have a picture of the student side that was pretty packed during the SMU game and most of them were wearing the newer shade. It looked really really good! I like the idea. We should have "Fouts Green Outs" for every game

I don't understand the problem with presenting an alternative point of view. So the guy has some reservations about hiring a high school coach to a DIVISION 1A program? Its not all that hard to understand why someone wouldn't hop right on board right away. I think he made some pretty good points. I was a total skeptic of the Dodge hiring at first- or any HS hiring(which had nothing to do with living in Houston)- but have warmed up to the idea a lot in the last month or so as I have had time to analyze it, research it, and accept it. I think its gonna be a good thing. As to the conflict, that's the beautiful thing about message boards- its the confluence of differing ideas and opinions, coming from people with different perspectives, point of view. Lay off

I see your point, but you also have to take into account that Texas is bringing in a top QB recruit, Brantley, from Florida next season as well... Im sure that played a part in his decision. Maybe he just wanted to play ball. We always give these guys a hard time for going to a major BCS program and "riding the pine" when they could start at places like UH, NT, Tulsa, etc so maybe we should cut him a little slack when they themselves realize this and make the decision to move on? I'd love to see Snead here, he's a stud QB, I just don't think its going to happen.

Ditto. Im planning on make the first 4 games. I will probably bring up all kinds of friends and family for the first home game and I suspect many others will follow suit

its just the same misconceptions all these people have had about NT for the past 20 years. In fact, until recently most of them were probably true. Winning has a way of shutting up the haters Look to Boise, Utah, and TCU for further proof. Im sure someone told Boise's staff and fans, "you'll never win in Idaho" (and to tell you the truth, Im still confused as to how they have managed to do so) but they didnt listen, look at them now. We just need to pack out fouts for the next couple of years. If you've been on the fence about donating, or buying season tix, now's the time to come down. Lets give this thing a huge push, see how far it goes!

From what I could tell, JubJub was 100% on board with the hire, and is very excited about it- as well he should be. also stated he wasnt sure Dodge would just take off at the first signs of success, citing Kragthorpe and others at now BCS schools. He supported it by saying Dodge loves the area, North Texas, etc, so who knows what will happen. sounded like Dan kept trying to interject with some nonsense about firing DD "after all he has done"... but I dunno, I caught the end of it on the internet
