  1. well, considering your prediction track-record, I think I'll stick to my guns on this one.
  2. We are 1-3 against KSU all-time 1985 Win, 22-10 1989 Loss, 17-20 2000 Loss, 10-55 2005 Loss 7-54 all played in Manhattan, KS
  3. pass that sticky-icky over here, I want to get to where you are!
  4. I think he knows this, and I think he will.
  5. which is why I think you will see some shakeups at the end of the season if things continue to deteriorate as they usually do.
  6. It's very much to our advantage to get to play this game later in the year, when we should (in theory) be getting better and gaining more of a grasp on Todge's system. Im gonna predict this game draws about as much as the Baylor game.
  7. Im not going to get into this stupid debate (that is completely unrelated to sports) but I found the wikipedia article on Maines to be fairly interesting... especially the "Triva" section. ***never mind, they edited out. I assure you, it was humorous and post-worthy.
  8. well if he keeps beating us, he might just get his chance.
  9. Also, Boone Pickens holds 45k and Floyd Casey holds about 50k. I think Ok State actually has the smallest stadium in the Big 12. Ok State would come to Fouts if the deal was right or it worked with both of our schedules. They came to SMU a few years ago.
  10. one thing is for sure, dodge wont be taking our boys up there to play close or get out alive. that feels good to know, whether the score is 65-0 or 28-24
  11. funny, he did that to a friend of mine. what a freaking weirdo. regarding the thread, I hope never.
  12. No worries, the boot licker part annoyed me, but I never really felt I had to validate my enthusiasm for my alma mater on an (somewhat) anonymous message board . those that know me will tell you I am as much a die hard a fan NT as anyone (and if they don't, my girlfriend who thinks I am a total dork/insane certainly will ). They also know that I make no apologies for having the "other" team I favor be UT. For me, it has absolutely nothing to do with their recent success. I had several family members who graduated from Texas, played basketball and baseball there, so it would follow that I grow up rooting for that particular team. Had that team been Northwestern Idaho State U A&T at Kellogg, my conviction would have been the same. However, I chose to go to NT- not UT (or NWISUATK). My time, my money, and my dedication are all colored Green (well I guess my money is now Kelly green... but you get the point). I don't understand why people get called apologists or DD-lovers because they make one point that is contrary to the "board-think". This is a medium for the exchange of information and ideas. And I love argue a good debate or argument (another quality/defect my lady will confirm). I was a somewhat vocal skeptic of TD when the name was being thrown around, mostly because there were so many other good candidates being discussed (notably Fisher and Harbaugh). I was fully aware of what he did in the HS ranks and aware of the name he carried, i just had my own reservations. It's an unorthodox move, pulling in a HS coach, but I am now on board 100%. I think the Insall deal could have been handled better IF everything is as it was printed in that article. I think that is the sentiment of many on this board. We were given a list of "facts" and we were going off that. I have no idea why it spiraled into people ganging up on others saying people are against Todd Dodge and DD-lovers. That's an illogical deduction(digression?), in my opinion. You can't very well crucify the poster of that article for sharing the info because you didn't like the info (and I mean 'you' in that non-specific general sense). I think its good to hear all sides of the story. Personally, I don't think the guy had what it takes to play D1 ball and certainly not the kind we aspire to play. But in any event, a phone call would have been nice. Regarding his deity status, I don't know if Todd Dodge can walk on water... we'll have to wait til we get to Norman for that.
  13. well said, thank you.
  14. haha, no, I don't seriously believe the overrated cheer was the reason we barely got out of that game. I said it was probably used as inspiration/motivation for a team that was down by a lot on the road. I think lack of effort, an injured Keith Wooden, and an overzealous whistle-happy ref led to the dissolution of the 21 point lead. The chant was just curious to me at that time in the game. nothing more...
  15. has anyone thought that maybe he did offer and the kid didn't want to go to freaking UTAH to play football? I mean, I wouldn't want to. Maybe Utah State didn't NEED a center. Or maybe they already had offers to a couple closer to Utah. come on, we could speculate on all this all day, but nobody knows anything except what was written in the article.
  16. well I guess we can tell why the ORLANDO SENTINEL would have MTSU at the top. Every other board shows Troy as the clear tops of the Sunbelt, signing 5 3-stars and a 4-star...
  17. OU- L SMU- L Arkansas- L WKU- W MAC team- W Troy- L MUTS- L LaLaf- W ULM- W FAU- W FIU- W Ark St- W start 2-5, rip off 5 straight as boys get a hold of Dodge's system en route to a 7-5 season. Could still be in contention for SBC title, depending on how it shakes out. I expect a big 2008. Then again, who knows. Last year I said that I thought 2006 might be rough and that 2007 would probably be a good season with all the young guys coming back... kinda hoping im right on that prediction!
  18. thanks, emmitt. now if only you could somehow figure out how to incorporate that level of clever into the chants at the basketball game...
  19. ding ding ding. look, for all of you in the Pit Crew, im not slamming you. Im just saying, everyone around us, including the friends I brought were asking "why are they chanting overrated with this much time to go?". none of us knew, no one around us knew, in fact the only people that knew what the hell yall were talking about was... the Pit Crew! Keep up the good work, just think up some chants that aren't so universal or are more specific. I get it now, but it was impossible to figure out the whole story line by just showing up to the game.
  20. pretty much my same thought. If everything is as the article states, it's a raw deal for this kid. IF. My point is simply, it doesn't matter whether its 100% true or not, most people that read it in west texas will assume there is some level of validity to it. I think it makes us look bad in a part of the state that we will want to continue to recruit. If Dodge didn't contact the kid, I think this falls on us. The "right" thing to do would have been to at least talk to the kid. Again, this is speculative because we don't know what actually happened, we just know what was written. I don't care if the kid played for us or not. It's more of a "what is the right thing to do" type thing for me. I have tired head. Bootlicker, out.
  21. ahh the default "UT-boot licker" accusation. Nice work! When you don't have a solid argument, you can always resort to name calling. Well-played, my friend, well-played.
  22. are you serious?
  23. I'm kind of torn on this. I mean, I pretty much agree with the writer. It was one scholarship... not worth burning that bridge. And you know how things go in small towns like that. Whether true or not, I imagine this article will be taken as gospel. I can also see Dodge's side of the deal as well. You are measured by what you do as a coach from day one. You have to bring in your guys, your system, etc in effort to succeed as soon as possible. But I still keep going back to the fact that it was just one guy... why not honor the offer?
  24. great article, thanks for sharing. very excited about the upcoming years!
