as a former greek and IFC member, I would be disappointed if an effort wasn't made to suspend Greek Week practices (if thats what this was) for a couple hours to get all the greeks out to the last home game of the season, as well as the first game in the conference tournament... Ive been to many greek week practices... that is definitely something that could have been postponed. I also dont want this to turn into a "lets bash the greeks thread". they represent a very small % of the university population as a whole and are among the most involved- if not THE most involved- student groups on campus. I just think someone dropped the ball on this if there was no push to be at the game

well, if you get 2 tables, its only $240

I too like our chances at this game. Will this be broadcast on any station? Anyone watching it somewhere in the Houston area?
-
agreed. Make no mistake, that was a HELL of a game. I watched the last half of it (which started as the NT game was ending), and it was one of the better college games I can remember seeing. With staggered starting times, I don't understand why people couldn't (or chose not to) just do both? I mean, did people even know there was a game going on in Denton last night? Just curious, as I dont live there, or anywhere near there...

agreed

yeah you gotta love our students watching the game between a couple schools they didnt get into... in DENTON... with a conference tournament game...AT HOME... less than a mile away. Thats incredibly inspiring.

nm... I'll post my basketball opinions on the BB site... I'd love to go to the MWC.

sigh. nobody in college station is complaining because they also played Texas, Kansas, Texas Tech, Ok State, LSU, UCLA... we are in a conference full of "body bags", so our 19 win season, while exciting, is hardly comparable to that of the top 8 teams in the Big 12 I, for one, have no problem with the scheduling of light weights in the basketball non conference games. That is what A&M has done for years. It builds confidence going into the conference games. My problem is all the close losses, with questionable coaching calls at the end of the game in crunch time. Jones has the talent. Lets see how far he gets in the tournament. If we lose tonight, I will be surprised if he is still here. This is the most talented team he has had- far too talented for another one and done conference tournament with no post season play, again. And no, we wont get an invite with this "20 win season" because we dont really have any quality wins.

I agree with you, I think Ealey could contribute right away. Outside of that, I think we have a pretty solid group returning on defense. I think our defense was better than advertised. Hard to win games and hold opposing teams when you constantly lose the field position battle due to offensive ineptitude.

the "guy" is fine. I understand the whole "its off season, lets play hypotheticals and what-ifs" but this one doesn't really have any chance of happening (all percentages aside ). That was the point I was trying to convey (to no avail), so any arguing about it is fruitless. I know what was discussed when the kid decided to commit. He wouldnt back down from a Nevada commit to play QB to play WR at NT.

and you are apparently a master of the english language. Why don't you re-read my quotes that you pointed out. You will see that either way, I said it wasnt going to happen. But dont let me ruin the fun. Let's discuss whether Cam Montgomery should be switched to punter. Yeah, he was recruited as a RB, but I think we can all agree, field position is a pretty important part of the game.

this thread is ridiculous because I can tell you with 100% certainty it will NEVER happen.

yes, she is an arrogant moron. But Jerry Jones blows as well for "taking his ball and going home". I don't have time to write a long essay but they both dropped the ball, in my opinion. The basketball and the baseball stadium are right next to each other in downtown Houston, and Reliant Stadium isn't too far away. Its nice having all the sports arenas in a somewhat central location and building them down there really added to the atmosphere of downtown. Plus, they are all fairly easily accessible by the Light Rail (public rail transportation), so you don't have to worry about parking if you live inside the city. Not to mention it encourages development around the stadiums themselves. Dallas had a great opportunity to revitalize an area of the city that could really use it and blew it. Look at all the development in Victory Park and tell me Fair Park couldn't have used something like that. I think it's a shame, especially since the city seems to be trying to build-up downtown. I know there is a lot more to it, but that's the gist of my thoughts on the subject.

how many 5'10" QB's has Texas, or any other major D-1A program, started in the last 10 years? Colt is 6'3" 195. Riley will be lucky to be a 3 star. And as far as the Doug Flutie/Drew Brees comparos go, have at it (Keep in mind Brees is 2+ inches taller than Dodge). Submitting two guys out of thousandsis a weak support for any argument. Yeah sure, anything is POSSIBLE, but it isn't probable . I suppose Mark Cuban could call me and offer a couple mill because he realizes I'm sick of my job and would rather write and travel, but I'm not gonna turn in my two weeks notice just yet.

and the fact that they will still be bringing in 4 and 5 star blue chippers at the QB position the next couple years, and probably 1 or 2 in the 08 class. Which is why I said, Dodge will never play QB at Texas. Which is fine. If he doesn't want to play QB at the college level, or just wants to "go to Texas where his dad played" more power to him! I cant fault him for that. I don't think he will see much playing time at any position. I dont think he is athletic enough to be a DB or WR in a full-time capacity at any major program, but thats just me. Either way, I wish him well and hope he far-exceeds expectations.

If we don't get to the semis, I will be disappointed. not surprised, just disappointed.

Vizza was the only QB Dodge recruited, and he was told he would have a chance to compete at that position right away. There is 0% chance the will be moved to a different position. Dodge wants him as a QB
