  1. seriously though, while 8-0 or 7-1 is a bit ridiculous considering all the issues they will have on defense, it's not out of line to project them close to the top of C-USA West. Of course they'll have to get through UH and Tulsa to do that, but this will be the best team SMU has had in 20 years. Question is, will it matter? To anyone? Chirp...chirp... didnt think so.
  2. yup, they had as good a shot at a national title as they'll ever have. was one of the worst calls of the year, in any division.
  3. Absolutely. I know a few of the older guys of our fraternity (guys that were around when I was in school), may try to get in touch with them. Otherwise, have to do our own thing. Good info, appreciated! Looking forward to round 2...
  4. sounds like a hell of a time. My brother has told me stories of how fun the Boulevard can be. Heard GREAT things about the Grove from friends and family that attended school out there in Oxford. We've got (or at least HAD) Flash at NT as well. They took pictures at all the Greek functions when I was in school. Would I/we be better off getting on touch with our fraternity chapter there at SMU and working out something with them, or trying to set up our own thing somewhere on the Boulevard (assuming this is even possible)? What has worked when yall had other local schools come in in the past?
  5. Barry Bonds is a first-rate A-hole, but the fault of this does not fall squarely on his shoulders- though the media would love it to be so. He's a product of baseball turning a blind eye to a much much larger problem in all the teams, probably 100s of players... If you're gonna start putting stars next to records, you'll have to do it for that entire era, because nobody is immune to the scrutiny or what-ifs... This is another glaring example of the failure that is Bud Selig and what a joke he has been as a commissioner.
  6. best-looking Rice-helmet I've seen. Now it matches the baseball hats. Good for them!
  7. man, remember when tribal art was cool?
  8. you can take that however you wish...
  9. ...and it's actually "you're" if you are going for "you are"... not "your". A little grammar never hurt nobody...
  10. no, but you can set it on fire on someone's doorstep
  11. YES! Agreed. Nice work!
  12. agreed.
  13. it was 27-0... but either way, your point stands.
  14. ASU??? Texas will be up by 28 or more at the half, and up by 50+ with the subs in when the final second ticks off the clock. Last year they didn't have a QB... The year before that the defense was called "soft"... the year before that they were rotating Qb's... Still, year in, year out, total and complete dominance in their openers. I see nothing in ASU that makes me think this year will be any different.
  15. perhaps I missed it... thanks for the info!
  16. well I guess I lose! ha... were they in the brown folder?
  17. wait what? I didnt get any chrome decal... whats the story with these?
  18. From what I was told, Metzlers made a unilateral decision to set up one line (based on the assertion that "there werent that many people last year"), as opposed to the two lines the AD suggested, thus causing the ridiculous line... take that for what it's worth. I did feel like I spent about half the time i was there standing in line, be it to get in, to eat, or to get my tix
  19. its not a shot, it's a fact. UT and NT are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to prestige. I don't take it as a slight- i see it as "the way that it is", or, reality. He'd likely say the same thing if he was going to UH, UTEP or Tech. I think we're a tad sensitive... Its a quote from the freaking coach. what did you want the writer to do, omit it? I'm glad he left it in. I think it speaks highly to the caliber of player we're getting, which Im guessing is why the author included it. That, or he and everyone else are a part of the conspiracy to hold UNT down
  20. a SBC team hasn't been within 37 points of Texas since 2002, and I doubt it happens this year. Regarding our opener, 38 is fair. We have a new coach, have won 5 games in 2 years, OU's defense is among the best in the nation... all of those things point to a lopsided affair.
  21. oh thats rearry hirarious!
  22. why would any conference want to have 14 football-playing members? Seems to me that would just mean smaller slices of the BCS pie, without any real improvement in the overall quality of the conference.
  23. because they are in the Big 12?
