  1. not questioning truthiness... just commenting on the "take my ball and go home" approach to writing an article. Doesn't get what he wants, so he lays into everything negative he can find about the program in the past few years. Let's see...there's a less-than-desirable stadium, low attendance, obligatory Southlake reference... check check check. Oh and let's also comment on how NT isn't in the same position as the top program in the state... check. Ok, I think that's everything... lets send this baby to print! Anyways, Im done with this topic... I'll never understand it, and I'm ok with that.
  2. thanks for the suggestion. was just a joke. glad to see everyone brought their wadded panties to play today... If you can find a single positive thing in that article amongst the cliched shots on NT we've all heard for the past 10 years and the egomaniacal rants about turning us into Boise and implications we hired Dodge based on his suggestion, please share it with the rest of us. It doesn't sound AT ALL like something written by someone who cares a great deal about the program. It sounds like someone whining because they cant get as much coverage as they want, so they resort to taking shots. Pretty unoriginal way to get a story. If he's going to help us by writing articles like this, I'd just assume he not.
  3. not a surprise, they've got a freaking stable of talented back's at SC, and most of them could start just about anywhere else in the country... moody included.
  4. ok, pitchforks withheld, can some explain to me why practice being closed off is a big deal? I honestly want to understand. It's Dodge's first year as a D-1A coach... his ass is the one on the line. He will be the one everyone cheers for the wins and questions/berates for the losses. For those reasons, I kinda feel like he should get to do it HIS way.
  5. So I guess we shouldn't plan to see you there?
  6. So this dildo claims to have the power to make us a top priority in the market, increase attendance, build a new stadium, AND turn us in to the next Boise State if we let him cover our practices? My gosh, we should have gotten in touch with him 5 years ago...
  7. dammit! I really enjoy our every-two-year whipping down in Austin...
  8. Q: What does an Oklahoma graduate and a tornado have in common? A. Both will end up in a trailer park.
  9. Vizza- he's younger, fresher meat.
  10. I'm with you. Let's off ourselves... same time... Z4BJS_Gp5JY
  11. Practice? We talking about PRACTICE?
  12. probably wont affect us... he'll likely be back by Sept 29th. Could be big for Troy in the first game of the season, however!
  13. making a lot of noise is also a really good way to celebrate a touchdown. To do that, having a lot of fans in the stands has been known to help. To get them there, the showing of boobs could only help. To encourage that, we should follow UH, start selling beer in the stands. AS beer increases, inhibition decreases, thus increasing the likelihood of boobage which will in turn encourage attendance and without a doubt make the place a louder, more raucous place to take in a game. In short, beer is the answer to all of North Texas' problems.
  14. no kidding... just watch preseason football or something people! As we grow into a big time program, we'll have to start acting more big time and that means there will be some closed practices. Everything wont always be readily accessible to people on the sole basis they are a self-proclaimed "hard core" fan. It's Dodge's first year and he's implementing a new system that is going to be tested by the best defense in the big 12- which is also one of the 5 best in the nation- in the first week in front of a sell-out crowd! I imagine he wants as few distractions as possible. Let the man do it the way he does it... it took him to several state champs and a 79-1 record. That makes him the expert... Now, that being said, shouldn't we have green pants for home games?
  15. favorite. thread. ever.
  16. I hear there are plenty of Cox over on the Hilltop...
  17. or Australian Football...
  18. Cadet Karen Thompson... 23 years later...
  19. Im just saying, I'll take Cox anyway I can get ... her... err...yeah. so... yeah.
  20. Better to get Cox early than to never have had any Cox at all. And you can take that just about any way you want.
  21. The obvious answer is "whoever wins" but I want Vizza to win it, because he's gonna be here for a while and this is a rebuilding year anyways (no matter what everyone says). I think it would be nice to have a guy start a couple years in a row. Years 2 and 3 could be HUGE with a seasoned QB.
  22. I dont think it matters if you are only selling them to your friends to recoup your costs, and not for a profit. Im working on a shirt as well with this on the back. I love the idea, but I;m not sure Id the schedule on the back of a Down With SMU shirt, since it's a one-game deal.
  23. Thats AWESOME. Id like to have that put on a t-shirt, with your permission of course.
  24. ha, yeah I laughed too, but then I realized this is a pretty legitimate statement. Its labor day and those Tech fans come out in droves... a sell-out isnt out of the question. Plus a lot of Pony fans have high hopes. Lot's of mags been blowing sunshine up their asses all summer...
  25. regarding the thread title--- NOR SHOULD HE. There's no guarantee Riley will take Vizza's job, if Vizza earns the starter spot. Dodge is gonna go with the guy that gets him the W. Riley's situation is similar to Kendall Briles at UH. Both recruited as ATH to UT, decided to go play with their dads. Briles didnt play QB once Kolb was there, but it still worked out really well for them. It will also work out really well for us, regardless of what role Riley plays.
