thanks for posting I think another one of the HUGE problems @ OU was the missed tackles. Oftentimes the WR's and RB's broke the big plays after our guys missed the tackle. Had they made the tackle, the drive totally changes. The absence of a safety or additional support from a LB really creates a disaster when the guy assigned to the OU player misses his tackle.

UNLV we lost 26-3 on our way to a 2-9 season. One of which was over the Sand Aggies out in Lubbock It was my first year of college, first UNT game. Honestly don't really remember the game much at all, just that we met some people that had a flask who were happy to share...

We were taught to do it like Emmitt is doing it in that picture, which makes sense since I believe Emmitt and I were at NT around the same time (99-03). If I try to bend my pinky down, my 4th finger goes with it, so Im not kidding when I say I just cant do it!

We are basically at an upstart, with new Offense, defense, and coaching staff. This would be a crushing blow to the ponies. I mean, if not now, when?? It's a must-win for Patterson much like it was a must-win for Dickey. Unfortunately, I dont see us winning this game. Im not sold on our defense schemes, and the fact that the coaches said it's the talent of OU, not the schemes worries me even more. The X-factor for us could be special teams again. I watched us get awfully close to blocking a couple of OU's punts. If we could start out the game with a 3 and out, block a punt, this game could quite literally go a lot like 2006.

he just looks slow. He doesnt have that quickness out of the gate that he used to have. Mosely looked a lot better against OU, granted it was garbage time... those are some pretty solid 2nd team guys they roll out there. Im guessing we'll see a lot more Mosely in the weeks to come. If the second half of the OU game is any indicator, Vizza, Mosely, and Fitzgerald will be our offensive core in Sun Belt play.

Well there's your answer. Guess we'll know if it's true after this weekend.

can someone explain to me why we would mail it in up at OU by not adjusting the defense nor come up with different blitz packages? Then explain how that fits into Dodge's philosophy of playing every game to win (that everyone, myself included, had a mega-hard on over the weeks leading up to last weekends donkey-punching). Seems incongruent.

If I were a betting man, I'd have the privates over the publics this weekend. This is not to say I don't think Dodge will get this team to where it needs to be, it just means giving up 49 points and 400 yards of offense in one HALF doesnt get turned around in ONE WEEK. That being said, I'll be at the game, ready to rock.

I thought the band SOUNDED great. I made the comment to a friend that we were even losing the battle during the halftime show, though I wasnt really referring to the music, I was graciously informed by a lady sitting behind me that the music they were playing was far more difficult than OU's. I'm sure that's true. Wouldnt think to argue that as I dont know enough about the technical music stuff related to the music chosen to have an opinion one way or the other but I do know that the shorts, black tennis shoes and socks with t-shirts looked like crap compared to OU's uniforms. I dont care how hot it was, OU managed fine. Their performance was just more entertaining.

So? SMU is half the team OU is, so I dont really care how well they did in the first half. They got raped. Plain and simple. So did we. I dont think we know enough about either of these teams. Tech is hardly an impressive D and SMU managed just 3 field goals. Color me unimpressed. I agree it will be a battle, but Im not sold on SMU or UNT one way or the other at this point. Yeah I saw that. But I'll be there for the duration of the game, no matter the weather or score!

hard to expect Roman to take on Malcom Kelly in single coverage.... Kelly is a freak of nature. I have born witness, I am now a believer of his awesomeness.

No kidding! NT fans need to quit crying. Worry about the refs when we field a competitive team. I cant think of a Big 12 game in recent history where the refs have had anything to do with the ass-whipping we received. There's a lot of things you can find to bitch about... this just isnt one of them.
