  1. agree 100%. That's probably the name of the game for our guys. That, and not turning the ball over. It would also be nice to get some pressure from the front 4 to disrupt timing. I think that could help a lot without having to leave a guy alone in the secondary when we get hit with the occasional pass.
  2. I think it will be fine until they play-action over the top...
  3. I'll be shocked if anything becomes of this. A $300k check is nothing for a guy in Reggie's position.
  4. Is that like "different strokes for different folks?"
  5. I dont know... it's really just a non-offensive slang for the suburbs good grief we're touchy on here today...
  6. curious, what got bumped from the 5 spot Pibb Xtra now enjoys?
  7. I think the color of these players has less to do with some alleged ignorant ideology and more to do with their average income. If you heavily recruit the 'burbs (where Dodge and Co have a lot of connections), you're going to end up with a some white kids. I dont feel like going through history and explaining the reasons for this phenomenon, as I believe this particular race issue (non issue?) has been firmly beaten into the ground and is causing major power-outages in my skull. And just so we're all clear, I dont give a damn what color they are- I just want to win.
  8. you dont know what you're talking about, so lets just drop it. I dont care about KA anymore than I care about a group of Mathletes. My point is, whether racism is actually involved or not, UNT has set a precedence of siding with the accuser- regardless the evidence or severity- and not necessarily the accused. The drive-by media gets a hold of stuff, and the University (or business, or organization) is forced to "save face" in the interest of political correctness or some other touchy-feely BS. I hope this case is different. The racism cry tarnishes reputations like a rape accusation... no matter what happened, the accused always takes a hit on their character. Thats why- assuming it is false- it disgusts me. How UNT handles this is extremely important as it will ultimately affect Dodge and his ability to recruit. I assume (hope) it will end up being a non-issue after it's all said and done. It would really be nice to hear some other minority players step up in Dodge's defense.
  9. BYU thinks that comment is ridiculous. But it is something I've noticed... Im not saying, Im just saying. There have been several fallouts between former players/starters and this staff. We all hoped it was just house cleaning. Im going to assume it still is. Id have a hard time believing this is a "racist" staff. Thats almost unbelievable in this day and age. This needs to be nipped in the bud really quick. UNT loves the hell out of a good racism allegation, just ask KA. (and there's your rabbit trail)
  10. hell of a story. my day was quite the debaucherous mess as well. The only thing better than "falling asleep" sitting upright in a chair in the fraternity house is being the "old guy" who "fell asleep" sitting upright in a chair in the fraternity house. For the sins committed this past Saturday, I am no longer allowed to leave Houston for Denton without my better half/restrictor plate.
  11. no kidding. what the hell happened Saturday? That was one of the lamest crowds Ive seen in recent memory. The much smaller crowd of UNT fans at the SMU game were twice as loud.
  12. more. of. this. i like.
  13. Gotta be New England right now, no question. Not to mention the Celtics should be good and they've got a solid MLS team. I suspect in the next couple years, it'll be in Texas... either Houston or Dallas- or both. (Dallas obviously having the current advantage) Astros will bounce back, Rangers cant be losers forever. Texans are moving the right direction in a tough division...baby steps (argh)... and the Cowboys are a legit contender. Rockets are a piece away, Mavs just need to get it done. UH is going to have a Boise-like year sooner than later, and I'm confident UNT's going to get it all together at some point in Dodge's tenure. And if you're into MLS soccer, Dynamo won it last year, taking on FC Dallas Saturday in the playoffs on the road to another.
  14. yeah thats the one. it was ridic-huge! it was hot, HOT standing at the front
  15. no i wasnt, my mistake... i thought you were talking about the year where the bonfire was so hot they were asking people to move their cars off the street behind the bonfire because they were afraid it would melt the car's paint. was in the early 2000s...
  16. thats still my fave bonfire of all time...
  17. i wish we had a named trophy or rivalry game... against anyone.
  18. he probably saw the Louisville game earlier this year, you know, before we all realized Louisville is terrible this year.
  19. Ive had worse... Oh and USC girls are among the best in the nation, no question.
  20. Nobody is disputing that. Unfortunately, the college football world isnt shaped by the whims of UNT.
  21. at least our logo looks good
  22. I think it was Garrett Mills
  23. unless it's working! Making adjustments is a big part of the game. If you're getting into the backfield on every play, why not blitz? Do it til they (us) prove they can beat it or until THEY adjust. Which we did neither.
  24. I'm all for it, but Rice and SMU would never go for it and both institutions have more political pull than UNT.
