  1. I predict I will be fairly buzzed by the time the UT/A&M starts Friday. I'll take UT by 3 USC by 1 LSU by 20 Hawaii over Boise (because I WANT that to happen for the sake of non BCS programs errwhere)
  2. well technically we already did that and it didn't get us an invite to the C-USA prom...so...
  3. jersey's are easy to cover (and I'd glady vouch for one)... the hard part would be the helmets, pants, shoes, etc- all things you would have to have for an appropriate "throwback" game I'd love to see us in the throwback stuff sometime... maybe once we get a new stadium, do a "new" with the "old" type gameday
  4. sounds like another disgruntled, wait-listed UTA student... what, didn't get in to the big school in Austin on your first try? Keep your grades up, they'll let you in eventually... UT-Purgatory... has a nice ring to it.
  5. while they might be vying for a WAC champ, they'd still be unranked. Boise has one loss and is only ranked 17th, Hawaii has none and has only managed 14th. Troy has 3 losses, and I cant imagine them being ranked over a 3-loss Illini, Cincy, Tennessee or Wisconsin team... or even a 4-loss Auburn team.
  6. Ahhh UT-Purgatory smacktalk. Gotta love it and their wait-listed student body!
  7. whether or not he meant it literally is immaterial in my opinion. He's a douche for even bringing them up. Im sick and tired of these sports jerkwads (be it coaches, players, or commentators) comparing a form of ENTERTAINMENT (which is all sports really are) to war, soldiers, battles, etc. Losing a football game isnt the end of the world, and it certainly isn't analogous to defending a country.
  8. That's a lot of speculation, and I think TD will play the guy that gives them the best chance to win. D-1A football is a lot faster than any level of HS, so there's a learning curve. Im not convinced Riley is the better QB, though he is clearly the better athlete. You want your best athletes on the field at the same time. Vizza doesnt have the hands or speed to be a WR, Dodge does. And he knows the offense, the routes, and the reads. Dodge played WR the first 2 years at SLC. Seems to me the same thing could be done here pretty easily, and he would be available should Vizza get injured to fill in as QB. Just my opinion. I like what I've seen out of Vizza thus far, think he has a tremendous upside once he cuts down on the turnovers- which is coachable, and will likely come as he gets a full grasp of the offense.
  9. agreed. Vizza is only going to get better... and Riley will be a terrific asset as a WR for his first year or two. The future is bright!
  10. I do too. Said that when it happened. I was thinking, well they have to review it so hopefully it gets overturned. No such luck. Either way, never should have come down to it.
  11. yeah and we're still in Texas, and they're still in Arkansas... so that's something. This is a good point though, i mean, not much diff in a 4-8 or 3-9 season. OR a 1-11. It's all a FAIL. Just hard to lose a game you were dominating in the first half. Oh wait, we've done that in more than half the games we've lost.
  12. thirded.... a TD from the 6 gives us the victory. we couldnt even get it close... credit to ASU's D... they brought it in the 2nd half
  13. was he past the line of scrimmage before he threw that? not that it matters in backwoods arkansas... cant tell with the incredible camera work. this is a really f-ing tough loss
  14. chance to make a statement, D!
  15. I too have been impressed with the improvement of the O-line as the season has progressed... of course I say that as Vizza is stuffed at the line... ha
  16. underrated
  17. yeah, so glad I opted to play Vizza over Harrell this weekend in my college fantasy team... FAIL. (and in case you're wondering, I didn't play Vizza last week)
  18. it would be really great if Vizza and Fitzgerald could get going....
  19. the question posed was "what should they BECOME"...
  20. its awesome. I imagine them in overalls with no undershirt with a piece of straw hanging out of their mouths and a spit cup next to the mic. That makes it bearable
  21. yeah and who are we to say whether or not the color green is in fact "mean". Let's install padded walls in every aspect of society so that nobody's feelings get hurt.
  22. I think thats a bit harsh. We were there, but we were super-tired by the time the game got kicked off. I can completely understand why people would opt to go home after the football game. That's a really long day. I think that in theory having a bball game immediately after a football game sounds like a perfect scenario for a huge turnout, but it may have actually had the opposite effect. Being at a game 6+ hours (with tailgating, the drive, etc) commands a significant amount of your time. Hard to tack on a couple more hours on top of that for another game...
  23. Im not sure a coach leaving a school translates to us grabbing their recruits. Most of the vacancies will be at schools looking to make a "big hire" and reinvigorate the fanbase and program. Whatever new coach they bring in will be selling that opportunity much like Dodge did in the few weeks he had this past year. I guess my point is, our recruiting skyrocketed after firing our coach, no reason to believe SMU and A&M couldn't enjoy the same success- with the right hire.
