  1. one person who I'd really like to give a "good-natured ribbing" is Kate Walsh. Something about that Cadillac commercial that makes a man go banana pants.
  2. 9 years old? you TOTALLY could have taken him.
  3. well done
  4. ha, I doubt the AFC will need the help
  5. Hey straw man, I was just saying that's probably the rationale of the players. I didn't say it was completely accurate. I just think a lot of these guys think they are good enough to play on a team that is mentioned in the national title race every year so by committing to Texas they honestly believe they are going to be on the field in the Rose Bowl, or along side a Vince Young, Adrian Peterson, etc as they play for it all.
  6. National Championship rings?
  7. I speak on behalf of all Texans fans. Don't question me!
  8. I'd be on board for something like this, and I know several others who would also. Mind you not 3000, but it's a start.
  9. Would you have preferred Le Tigra or Ferrari?
  10. for you, or for them?
  11. The Texans don't have "throwback" uniforms, so they throw in different combinations. Not sure what's with the cynicism. The actual Texans fans kind of like it, nice to mix it up now and then. I thought the red looked cool. Frankly I don't care if they wear pink and purple as long as they continue playing like they did last night.
  12. The last few years they've taken a lot of "good" guys, that's been the thing about the team that's annoyed me. They even made it their stupid marketing campaign (which kills me). I wouldn't be surprised if nobody in the org knew about Clemens and Pettite. They were untouchable when they were here. Clemens pretty much did whatever the hell he wanted because he was Roger Clemens. And I dont even understand why you are arguing with me. All I said was I was surprised they'd go after a guy that's been in the center of controversy the past few years. Clemens, Pettite, and Caminiti didn't have the stink on them Tejada did. I'd be just as surprised if ANY club gave up that many prospects for Tejada the day before this all came out. Im just glad Biggio wasn't on there. That guy is baseball, would've really disappointed a lot of 'Stros fans.
  13. I cant imagine a scenario where the Astro's didnt know he could possibly/probably be on that list today, so I assume they knew about it and figured it wouldn't be an issue. Who knows. Pretty uncharacteristic of this team, but maybe thats what you get with a new manager/GM. Im excited about the aggressive moves, just dont like to give up all the pitching prospects.
  14. yowsers... but appreciated As an Astros fan, Im really excited to see Miguel Tejada's name on the list after trading the farm to bring him here. </sarcasmo>
  15. this isnt the Texans team of the past... even with all the injuries (the most players on IR in the league), the defense is becoming a cohesive unit, thanks in large part to Mario Williams. 3.5 sacks tonight, 13 on the season... I'd say he's finally earning that draft spot. Great game for Texans fans! Also, I thought tonight's crew did pretty well. I actually enjoyed listening to them. Can't say that often.
  16. I was really disappointed with Memphis being selected. Seems like there were other C-USA schools that would have been a better draw. I think the NO Bowl jumped the gun. Would have been much better to grab a UH or someone else whose fans would be excited to travel to NO. Houston is an easy drive. That being said, they may have invited them and they declined.
  17. I forgot how fast Korey Washington plays... he really turns on the afterburners in those TD catches against Navy Im excited about the speed we'll have on offense next year. Hoping we can get a little bit in the defensive backfield. And I agree, we'll really miss Weathers
  18. Orsini was the AD at UCF before going to SMU....
  19. thanks... shoulder surgeries are a pain, but depending on what it is, he can probably fully recover with rehab. I had surgery to repair a torn labrum (SLAP tear) back in September, and I'm almost 100% just have to regain the rest of my range of motion. Anyways, Im also not a QB or in stellar shape, so I'm sure he'll be fine. ha
  20. what is the actual injury?
  21. ESPN ARTICLE
  22. Completely agree. Our only 2 losses have come at the hands of 2 solid teams. We've won the games we were supposed to win, and played competitively in the ones we might not have won (barring the first 10 minutes of the game in Austin). Im excited.
  23. Well if not a DC, a defensive scheme that works. I believe that if we had any defense, a kicker, and a few less costly turnovers, we'd have won at least a couple more games. QB's usually throw less interceptions as they mature, get used to the system in which they are playing. So I believe the latter will work itself out as Vizza makes better decisions, becomes more comfortable. Having to go for it on 4th down instead of getting 3 points, kicking off, and winning the field position game, really killed us this past year. I don't think people realize how important a good kicking game can be. As for defense, who knows. Ark State, SMU, Navy, and FAU were all there for the taking- we just blew it. Finish those games and we're 6-6 with a new coach, new system. Not great, not terrible... and certainly easier to take than a 2 win season. Plus that puts SMU winless. I think we should have played ULL closer. Despite our turnovers, we were still in that game late. The defense gave up too many big plays. Troy just whipped us. MTSU whipped us in the second half. OU, Ark... we just got out manned, out coached- out everythinged. We're a couple years away from surprising one of these caliber teams. And FIU, ugh. Only thing I can figure is they wanted to avoid losing (for a second straight winless season) more than we wanted to win that game. I think our offense will be to the point where we can win 7-8 games next year, but our defense will have to improve significantly for that to come to fruition. Otherwise, it's gonna be another sub-.500 effort.
