  1. ahh if only life were as it were in the 70s and 80s....
  2. well, it is NMSU. Not exactly a quick, easy drive.
  3. my bad... I think I read it wrong, or the original article stated Louisiana Tech. Anyways, it is unfortunate. I've grown tired of these school shootings. If you want to off yourself, fine... but there's no need to take anyone with you.
  4. Another school shooting **** Louisiana Technical COLLEGE, not LTU.
  5. seriously, my thoughts exactly. Awful pictures of UNT.
  6. That's a great story!
  7. we played MTSU last year, I thought. Anyways, I say GOOD, bring on Troy and a big crowd. Since when are we nervous about playing ANYONE in the Sunbelt? I think we'll be rolling along nicely by late October, let's take out the "crown jewel" of the conference.
  8. huge pull for CU! I hear the kid's Uncle is a sophomore, plays for Colorado right now. Not sure how that works, but that's what I read.
  9. yeah, they kicked our asses the last 2 years... at home.
  10. nobody disputes that. I think TFLF's point was that it wasnt much of a decision if he actually wanted to play because he would have been a pretty good ways down the depth chart at UT.
  11. how could it not be? Plain and simple, Riley would not have come to UNT without his dad. I don't see why that's a bad thing, or why people feel like he needs to come to UNT for some other reason. All of the recruits we are getting are coming because of Riley's dad. That's how it works. He's the coach.
  12. are you saying that's not true? Because it pretty much is. And who cares? He's coming here.
  13. it doesn't matter how many times you say that on this board, people will still come up with a way to make it a marketing problem. I think you're absoultely right, however.
  14. Im sure nobody on this board has ever driven after having had more than the legal limit...
  15. I cant believe UNT fans are arguing about our how good our Rivals rankings and "average stars" are after they spent the last 5 years explaining how they are "BS" to begin with, and "bought by BCS teams". Who cares. Not being ranked below 100 after last's years disaster should be considered a huge success, IMO. Especially since we play in the SBC, haven't had a winning season in 3 years, and were coached by what was basically a HS football staff the better part of 07.
  16. Either way, UNT will survive.
  17. Seconded (or thirded, or whatever). I'm almost willing to say it's now or never.
  18. pure sarcasm, my friend. FIU is so spare, I'd consider it our worst loss of the season. Their fanbase is almost as pathetic as their record the past 2 seasons- which is saying a lot considering they're the largest school in the belt.
  19. I'm not sure how that would work. I'm sure they'll see where he is once he's here, make the best decision based on his progress and the future of his career at UNT (and elsewhere). Im just saying, I had a SLAP repair done (which is relatively minor compared to his injury) in late Septemeber and I still cant support my own weight with that shoulder, still doing physical therapy, and still working to get back range of motion. It's not unsual for injuries like that to take a full year to fully-heal. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him take 08 off, to get back to 100%, get a year of school under his belt, then be ready to battle in 09. I think he will be a terrific asset on the sideline either way.
  20. yeah a program with that kind of on the field success and in the stand support will really benefit from a new stadium
  21. I don't think people understand how difficult it is to bounce back from a shoulder injury. Knees generally have a faster recovery time than a shoulder- especially when there were major tears. I would say it's probably unrealistic for him to be back at 100% by the time fall practice starts. Not to say he won't be tossing a ball around, but rehabbing a shoulder isn't a quick, easy process.
  22. Why does it matter? I mean, he's not a war correspondent- it's college athletics.
  23. I can honestly say I've never heard of that.
  24. exactly. It all starts up front. great pick up.
  25. the top ten, top 5 and #1 polls are even more depressing...
