  1. Kelley green looks good on the uniforms. Just wish the helmets had an interlocked "NT" logo on them.
  2. Tina Slinker thinks that's crazy talk.
  3. It is, but it's no different than Cowboy's fans talking about all the rings they won in the early 90s... And just to be clear, Im not singing the praises of Yao or McGrady- both clearly have their faults. I tend to live in past (as a Rockets fan, it's much easier), the glory days of the Rockets. I loved Hakeem, Ellie, Clyde the Glide (even if only a short time)... even Kenny Smith before he went Benedict Arnold on the Rockets.
  4. thats actually very true. I personally think Dallas missed it's opportunity- as things are- when they blew the finals against Miami. I'm not trying to go off on a vitriolic anti-Dallas rant or incite an argument- it's just a personal opinion. Dallas really needs a center. Anyways, San Antonio is already on the backslide. I think the Rockets have one more year to make it all come together... As much as an excuse as it may be, I DO think they need Yao and McGrady to be at full-strength for it to happen. Maybe I'm wrong. It's happened a time or two. I dont completely agree that Houston is T-Mac's problem. Unless he wants to play a secondary role on another squad, he's always gonna be the guy a team trusts with the final shot. Last year the Rockets flat-out blew it... and T-Mac had the shot. also, I HATE THE JAZZ.
  5. I thought this was a Dal v NO thread, but since you wanna drag the Rockets and their 2 Championships into, I'll roll with it. T-Mac probably wont get out of the playoffs this year but it wont be his fault. Kind of hard to have the center-piece of your team out for the season. I'm impressed they managed the 4th-best record in the West. What was Dallas' excuse?
  6. well you know, Dirk is always steps it up in the playoffs, so Im sure Dallas will be fine...
  7. Just so everyone knows, we've played Texas State more than any other school- ever- and that includes NMSU and SMU. So there's your rivalry. We also own a heavy advantage in the all-time record.
  8. Im not saying Dodge isnt gonna turn this baby the right way but I dont know that the "anti-dodge" people have necessarily been proved wrong just yet. But I agree with the overall sentiment of your post. Glad you said it.
  9. I didn't wipe away the accomplishments. I think it's great she did all that and I think she would have been fine here. BUT... she isn't. It's just so typical of this board to automatically call a hire a failure or a mistake when most don't even know what they are talking about. Maybe everyone on this board doesn't know as much about the situation as the AD who does the hiring? Or the board and president that approve it? Or how the interviews went? Or if Capps really wanted the job? Last I heard we weren't exactly hemorrhaging money, so Im guessing maybe salary was a consideration. Either way, let's see what she does.
  10. I personally like we're not just picking up a metroplex retread. Give someone new a chance!
  11. If it's Ga Southern, USA, or any other southern start up over Texas State or UTSA, that's all the more reason to get the hell out of this conference ASAP. Seriously, we need another Texas team (or 2 or three) to play in conference play whether it's in the Belt or elsewhere.
  12. come on... you know these kids read this stuff...
  13. no can has tick3ts. I has a bucket.
  14. I dunno, I always loved Gumbel 2 Gumbel
  15. UH has been doing this for a while... Of course that doesnt preclude us from doing it as well. Just pointing it out... Tortilla/Tech discussion in 3...2...1.
  16. That part was a joke. I shouldve included an LOL or a series of but thats not how I roll. I understand the feeling, $500 was more than I had planned on spending this year, but I figured what the hell. Oh and I'm in section D. Haven't any interest in moving into E. I think my seats are better than that of E.
  17. It wasn't on a major network, that was the problem. The attendance can absolutely be attributed to the fact the it was played in Houston... lots of UH and TCU fans... and just sports fans in general. And they were former SWC members. Lots of old "remember whens" at play in the crowd, no doubt!
  18. if sec D or F is better than E, what's the problem with getting bumped out of E?
  19. It's just the natural progression. "Big program's" seating policies have changed over time as well. You can spread the payments out if you don't want to fork over $500 right off the bat.
  20. I think it's basic supply and demand. Enough people want to sit in E and are willing to pay the $500 that they can do that. And really, of all the threads I thought I'd see, I never thought I'd see one about how unfair UNT's ticket policy is... I can see there are gonna be a lot of growing pains as we become a bigger program.
  21. Middle Tennessee is a pretty inexpensive place to live as well, but yes, we need to be able to triple Dodge's pay after our first big season if we plan to keep him around.
  22. i hear the number unlocks a cryptex. Within the cryptex lies a scroll that bears the answers to life's most poignant questions, including the estimated completion date for the new stadium. Anyways, my account number starts with 13. Looks like im the best.
  23. not to mention the fact that the first tab on that link is EXCELLENCE, not "hey it's super cheap so go here kthxbah"
  24. Hey, Im not disputing that. I LOVE this school. I'm just tired of hearing all these people crying over what UNT isn't. Regarding the ad, you can qualify the value comment in the ad, as it's a verifiable distinction we were given by an organization. When marketing, you go with strengths. I too would like to see an ad that says something like "UNT is awesome because it just really rules and people should like it because it's fun and lots of people have good experiences so its just like UT well maybe better but anyways go here", but I think it's a tougher sell. I don't mean any disrespect to the originator of the thread, I just happen to disagree- this ad is NOT a big deal. It was in the North Texan. I'm guessing the demo of readership is about 99% UNT alumns with the remaining 1% being students already interested in UNT.
