  1. I think this is about what we all expected to see. Or at least, should have. I hope with the hiring of her assistants we can generate some positive excitement in and around the program that will ultimately lead to more wins. I mean I guess. Im not really into womens sports, but success at anything other than sucking is good for UNT.
  2. We have played Texas State more than any other team and hold a commanding lead in the all-time series. I'd be happy to play them, however there is no reason for us to play at Texas State until they are Div 1. They are welcome to come up here as often as they like.
  3. I love conference realignment talk. Gonna be hard to ever be attractive to a conference like the Big 12 without a baseball team... But that's ok, I was told at the BBQ in 06 that we'd have a team in time for the 08 season. Oh wait... What makes UNT a more attractive addition to the Big 12 than UH? Teams in the Big12 already play games in the DFW area. Wouldn't it be to their advantage to spend other time in Houston? Either way, regarding changing conferences, basketball is our ticket. No reason why we can't build a winning program here. And by winning I mean, going deep into the tournament. And by tournament I mean the NCAA Tourney- the one that matters. It costs less to win in basketball.
  4. Years of therapy and I still can't move on. Thankfully I wasn't yet born when the 1979 AFC Championship game was played...
  5. ah jaysus... self-deprecating humor is my specialty. I haven't any problems calling myself out on anything. The fact that I'm even having to explain this makes me realize I need to cut my losses and board the next FAIL train out of this thread. I think either city bragging about their successes is somewhat laughable at this point. I mean, let's be real... there hasn't been a city more prone to choke than Dallas in the past 5 years. Houston has a pennant and an abortion of a World Series (that might have been closer than the sweep indicated, but a miserable failure all the same). Not a lot of win there. Dallas has had a lot of potential and with it has managed to do a whole lot of nothing. I mean, the Texans have still won the same amount of playoff games as the Cowboys in their existence. But then there's hockey and the boat loads of wagon-jumpers, which you have already addressed, so I'll leave that be. (and just a side note, I actually watched the 3rd period and the first OT last night before falling asleep... not a hockey fan by any means, but I enjoyed the intensity of a tied playoff game with elimination at stake)
  6. Frank Reich is the spawn of Satan.
  7. Congrats on being TYPICAL Dallas fans. Someone makes one comment about last year's total failure and everyone pulls out their tissues... waah. You're still the only franchise in the state without at least 2 championships and all Cuban's money still can't buy a ring- and it isn't going to happen anytime soon. The Mavs are headed for troubled waters. Anyone who looks at things objectively can see that. But at least you've got hockey... the most relevant sport on the planet. Wasn't even trying to pick a fight so unwaddeth thine panties- just calling a spade a spade. Trust me, as a Houston sport's fan, I've got plenty of failure to discuss... the NBA is just the one area where we've had success.
  8. Yes, but they didn't lose. So congrats, Mav Fans... you've still got the biggest choke on record. I tend to think this helps Boston more than it hurts them. They strolled in thinking they had a cakewalk to the championship. Clearly not the case. The game yesterday resembled the team that won 66 games in the regular season. If nothing else, they've succeeded in getting me moderately interested in Eastern conference basketball. Not sure when was the last time I could say that.
  9. I'm absolutely certain you might be right...maybe.
  10. No, it really isn't. Dallas won a record number of games last year. At the very least, it's about equitable. But misery does love company and after the raping the Rockets took last night, I'll join you.
  11. Agreed. Tiredest of head. I'm in the unenviable position of believing it might exist but that we aren't responsible for it.
  12. Are they though? Because Im pretty sure I watched your Golden Eagles take a good beating at Robertson Stadium a few years ago... Besides the obvious Texas teams, So Miss and Tulane are another reason why I'd like to be in C-USA. I don't care much about the eastern schools like Marshall and ECU, but I've always liked the Golden Eagles.
  13. Man I'd love to see it. Of course, it's still LSU. Half of their back ups would start here. That's something to consider. Les Miles, however, is a douche. I wish them failure from now until the end of time.
  14. yeah I didn't mean my statement in a contentious manner at all. Poorly worded on my part. I just like the way this story all unfolded. It's the whole "sometimes not getting what you want is best" thing. Like he was probably really bummed to get shunned by the place he always wanted to play... and now things have fallen in line for the heisman trophy race and possible National Title appearance. I'm not sure that would be the case had he gone to Texas.
  15. saw this on the Disney Sports Network last night... incredible.
  16. Well Texas hasn't been known for it's offensive innovation mostly just a certain star's offensive improvisation. So I think Daniel ended up in the best possible situation (hindsight of course).
  17. Wow, good info Jim and Rick. Didn't know all that. Thanks for sharing. I'm not gonna say I'm opposed to bootlegging North Texas gear...
  18. I can't help but think this kind of sounds like the whole Scouts/Rivals ranking thing. Like maybe if we were ranked on their list, we would look at it differently... What's your beef with CLC?
  19. Which schools have AQ's?
  20. This was a "dare to be great" moment that failed... miserably. He shot for the stars... they'll never take that from him!
  21. Another gem by "the dildo". I'm with Avery on this one. I don;t think he was the Mav's downfall any more than I do think he was their savior. I just think the fact that they won 67 with him at the helm last year gets overlooked. You can't have it both ways. Or can you? I dont know. Im sipping on FAIL soup, praying the Rockets make it to game 7. Speaking of, quite a difference with ole Rafer and Hot Carl in there...
