  1. If it makes you feel any better, you're right. If Texas Tech doesn't charge students admission on top of a student fee, why would UNT do that and expect it work? Keep admission free, add a student fee. Hey that might be a slogan...
  2. I dont think Texas Tech students pay for their tickets. Per their athletic website: So how does it work? Just like UNT. Carry on.
  3. yeah it does seem like a hot dog/hallway exercise in futility...
  4. Thank you for this. Passing it along to my sports media and journalist nerd friends in the city. They will enjoy it.
  5. well Rice has about 3k undergrads... so relatively speaking, 27k is pretty damned good. Mattress Mac supports everything in Houston. He's a marketing genius. That's how he built Gallery Furniture into the empire you see today. It isnt because they sell quality products, I assure you.
  6. After I bashed the Chronicle yesterday, figured I'd be fair and share this gem. Houston Attorney sees small wanger as evidence, court disagrees
  7. well I felt like the 'thumbs up' trumped the uniform...
  8. they looked good to me...
  9. Well then I'd say ole Dickey-J has bigger problems if the majority of people that read that rag missed the sarcasm because "it seemed like something he'd write." If it truly was satirical, he should be commended. But Im not yet conVINCEd. (See, I too could work at the Chronicle. )
  10. I r win. I can has trophy?
  11. unfortunately Im not entirely certain this is intended to be read as sarcasm. Having listened to Dick Justice on sports talk shows and occasionally read through the mindless drivel he offers the fair city of Houston every day, this actually wouldn't surprise me in the least if it were a real ode to Vince. Of all the people with a Voner, he sports his the proudest and most unabashedly. I believe his daughter is going to Texas to swim.
  12. I consider this to be a victory. He's not going to ever supplant a physically-fit Ricky Williams. Drugs aside, don't forget what a nightmare running back this guy used to be. Same for Ronnie Brown when healthy. I think Cobb's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will make him a solid 3rd down back. Glad to see it!
  13. Im starting to think its going to take longer than we expected to turn this ship back around. I dont have any expectations for this season and Im having a hard time seeing a silver lining for next. Of course, its the sun belt. A 7-5 record could win the conference. But my yearning for a crazy 10-2 or better season probably wont have much a shot til 2010.
  14. A flat bed full of empty promises? Ziiing? And I'll echo Baby Arm... complete and total asswhip- and that's with the "help" of 20-30 other people. People don't realize how much money and work goes into the floats the fraternities and sororities put together every year. Its a hell of an undertaking.
  15. In my other life, besides wasting hours away on gmg.com instead of actually working my regular 9-5, I'm also a freelance writer. A friend of mine is the editor of ENVY magazine in Houston, which is a glossy lifestyle rag that covers food, bars, clothes, music, etc... anyways she's looking for pictures of people with their faces painted up at game day and asked me if I had any from UNT. If you've got some good high-res images of people with their face painted up and wouldn't mind them being published in a mag that has about 50k circulation each month, please shoot me a PM. Like I said, I'd much rather see some green in there than the typical orange or red.
  16. No, I went to UNT. Duh. See, I can do self-deprecation as well...
  17. Im gonna go out on a limb and say his intake is exactly what is needed for what he does as he probably has access to the greatest nutritionists in the WORLD.
  18. Let's go with the latter. Though your ability to form coherent sentences does make you a credit to your alleged university. Tell me you have a full set of teeth and I'll have to completely reconsider my former position. Of course, its just a joke. And you're on a UNT board... so laugh. Anyways, seems like your team is always picking up talented athletes with IQ scores just slightly above vegetative levels. But to be fair, it has worked quite well. And this is a terrific pick up for your team and the SBC, talent-wise.
  19. Troy is a junior college playing Div 1A sports. Unfortunately for us, they play said sports in our conference. Though clearly a mental midget, this guy is a hell of a talent
  20. I'd hang that quote up in the HATED BIG 12 TEAM locker room if I were coach of said team.
  21. Greatness. As a Rick-roll aficionado, I really appreciate it.
  22. so what you're saying is, that if we were ever going to make a run at a 10 win season, 09 seems to be setting up nicely.
  23. ...which I wouldn't really call a loss. Of course, I'd want the ones from 5 years ago. She looks more like a duck than a human these days.
  24. Lets suppose it was Georgia the state and instead of Georgia the country... who you got in a fight with the Russians?
  25. Living in Houston, LSU fan has pretty much become public enema #1 for me (you'll note the 'a' and the 'y' are nowhere near one another on the QWERTY keyboard). They are everywhere. Last thing I want to see is that wretched purple and gold splashed all over the greatness of our state plates. And I say "last thing" only because I've already seen Kathy Bates naked.
