From what I'm reading Philips seems to be coming along nicely, making a move up the depth chart, so I'm assuming we'll see him play against LSU.

Hell, maybe Phillips is the future @ QB! I still believe it was a huge mistake not nabbing a JuCo QB during the Spring. Also, if it turns out we have a down year due to our QB situation, I believe we should recruit a JuCo QB- any thoughts?

Great practice update man! Makes me wish I there watching myself, instead of stuck in the office @ the nations capital! Well, I can speak for all of us I'm sure when I say mental mistakes are to be expected; believe me, even the Trojans (no, not ours, the mighty ones!) are having the same issues- they'll get worked out before the first game. Still, I recall my biggest concern I took from the one practice I was able to see last year was the dropped balls from the WRs- this needs to be resolved ASAP! Why can't we become more of a well rounded offense, instead of the one dimensional approach! Also, I'm willing to bet we keep things vanilla for the LSU game- wouldn't want to reveal to MTSU too much of the new wrinkles!!!

So let me get this straight, if Meager doesn't participate in the scrimmage this Saturday it would be another huge event he's missed due to injuries? I mean, he's already missed the Spring game...

ASU QB arrested Accusations of beating up girlfriends AND stealing milk? Man, this ain't gonna help the "poor man's league" perception of the Sun Belt one bit!!!

PLUMM, I live @ Washington DC so, believe me, I'm extremely worried about the cost of gas- man, living here is way too expensive, especially when you factor in flights to Denton to catch my "beloved" Mean Green beat up on teams!!!

Folks, though a diehard Mean Green fan I also follow the Terps and the Bulldogs (I work right down from the UMD campus & grew up going to GA every summer!) and they're having MUCH worse injury problems than the Mean Green are! MD ost they're top lineman, Stephen Heyer, who happens to be the LT is charge of protecting the QB- oh, by the way, the Terps have an untested QB too, so we aren't the only ones!!! Georgia's injuries are so bad they've only @ 11 projected starters I believe, only 2 LBs right now due to the injury bug. Let's all hope and pray we make it out of fall practices with no serious injuries, like to either JMo, Cobbs, Monroe, Quinn, Lineberry, etc...

Those who've mentioned durability regarding Meager are on the money, as it's obviously at this point he might start, but there is no way he'll make it through the entire season. We need to prepare @ 3 QBs this year- very scary thought since they'll all be untested.

At this point, if I were the UNT coaching staff I'd put a 10 yard perimeter around Meager to prevent any possible injury- BTW, we're not going to play him in the LSU game, are we?

OK then, this writer obviously hasn't seen HS football stadiums in Maryland! Seriously, yes Fouts is very old and yes I'd love a new stadium but, come on, it ain't that bad!

I'm sure this has been asked but how many TEs do we need? At quick glance we have at least Davidson, Harmon, Chaney, & the 2 freshman- Gilmore & Brown. I'm assuming, since most teams are usually thin on the DL, a player such as Gilmore, since he's played there before, Dickey will give Gilmore a look there.

My first impression is Meager MUST have a breakout year- period! I think we all can agree where fine on the RB & LB front, but have serious questions on the DB, DL, and OL front- not good sir! My assessment so far is we'll need some freshman to step in right away and be studs. For instance, y'all know we'll have a freshman as a backup QB, most likely, and I'm pretty sure we'll need @ 2 of our true freshman DBs- Chatman, Green- to step in right away and be stars! I also have observed, by the way, we're recruiting- FINALLY!!!- true D1A talent, or guys who could play for Texas or Maryland (sorry, had to throw in my MD roots!) So, all we need to do now is start beating OOC teams- AND I MEAN NOW!!! (Oh, and a better stadium would help!!!!)

Awesome report!!! I read where Meager is being held back on purpose by the coaching staff to ease him into practice, due to his shoulder injury sustained in the Spring. Were you able to recognize Blake Burruss? If so, how well was he doing? I understand he looks the part but does he play the part as well?

Talk about being a diehard Mean Green fan! I'll be traveling to both the MTSU & Tulsa games from my home in Maryland. Man is my brother jealous!!! Is anyone traveling to these games as well from locations other than Texas?

Before I graduated I had the pleasure of meeting Dhati during a gym class. I recall to this day how impressive his demeanor was and enjoyed our conversations. I also recall he and I having to run a timed mile, which I believe we both finished with a real decent time, I believe under 5 minutes!!!

Nah, didn't catch it here in Maryland!!!
