If we have impact players who are distracted from their mission by this, that indicates major changes were needed anyway.

I'm concerned about the hire from within mentality. This is an opportunity to take the situation to a higher level. Get someone from a smaller program that has done amazing things. I'm thinking like Coastal or MadDog (JMU). Then let them make similar moves on FB HC.

During the TX Baylor game yesterday they said Bijan is making $2 million/yr and to keep him another year TX needed to come up with 6 or 7 million.

Ha ha. This is the sort of little thing that NT has never been able to wrap their mind around. Problem is, there are about a thousand of such little things.

The run game did not go anywhere. When you can't consistently throw downfield with accuracy, defending your run game becomes very easy.

I don't know why some of you are so down on Charlotte. They have many of the same headwinds going against them that NT does. I expect they will increase the budget for their hire. As for NT, we have been treading the waters of assured mediocrity for too long. I'd rather the university move on and take a good shot at greatness. Take a successful coach from some lesser program, if there is such a thing.

I don't necessarily think they are the best, but they are awesome.

Sadly I don’t think this sort of ranking abyss or the horrendous drubbings make any impression on NT leadership at all. It’s all a nonevent for them.

Appalachian leadership simply does not tolerate not being able to compete, so they always get people in place who ensure they can compete. It does not take away from the growth of their university; in fact it has helped their growth alot.
