  1. Perfect. Right in line with my expectation that NT wins 50-25. 😁
  2. Though there was purple involved, please note that was ABILENE Christian, not Texas Christian. Commitment to 3 man front is reminiscent of late years HC Dickey's obsession with executing the 'perfect run-blocking scheme'. All that did was completely derail an otherwise promising head coaching career, in case anyone cares about that.
  3. I'm sure they have a foundation like Eanes (Westlake by Austin) where we were giving several hundred extra $ per student per yr. Pretty soon they'll be paying the players too if not already.
  4. I'm not saying anything negative about a win on the road against a program that has typically been better than ours over the years. At least they got up enough that the other team didn't win.
  5. Right; at this point a full on blitz every down would be better. It would give a tiny chance to win, versus assured loss by 5, or 40, yard carries every time.
  6. So it seems like we’re basically in a prevent defense every down and situation. Maybe change that.
  7. That's why I said 'at this point'. But yeh, performance like that WILL get us beat by ACU. So hopefully by that point things are better. Otherwise, yikes...
  8. I kept my receipts too, for parking and ticket. Feel like I should get a refund. In all seriousness on that front, I get that their mentality is 'results will only come from investment'. Problem is, I invested alot more before, and there weren't results. Sometimes I think they should just figure out where they can win with what they have, consistently win for a good while there, and then maybe they can get investment to consistently win somewhere else. I don't take the basketball success in recent years for granted, but I'd much much rather have that success in football. Is their message, 'see we did it in basketball, so with more $ we can do it in football too'? If so, I'm not really hearing that message or an explanation of why that would actually be the case. How did TX State get TJ Finley?? Sure he failed expectations in the SEC, but you could tell he could succeed at other levels.
  9. This thread title is ridiculous at this point but one thing that was really wrong Saturday is our HC did not have much of a presence. I could find him down there occasionally but he did not seem very directly engaged. It was also a problem with his predecessor early. If you don’t drive the bus, it WILL quickly go off the cliff.
  10. Well i hope it wasn’t counting on the heat because ironically it was our team that withered.
  11. Choose to win; don’t lose agin.
  12. The score speaks for itself but that was atrocious. I couldn’t stay to watch all of it. I was on board with this hire, but he didn’t have a handle on this game, and the team was not prepared. I expected there would need to be improvement but there is no reason we should be starting this far back.
  13. This conference should shed members, not add them.
  14. The fact that stupid conference is still called the Atlantic Coast indicates how stupid they are and all this is. More stupidness will come from it. I am not concerned at all about avoiding stupidness. Any prior involvement with smu was stupid and we should learn from prior stupid mistakes. Sadly their stupid people will come on here to proclaim their superiority. Just block or otherwise avoid their stupidness.
  15. The difference with a Hail Mary is you don’t have anything to lose. I hope this windmill chase costs them so much they can’t come back for any more games, except maybe in Division III.
  16. ‘College’ football doesn’t even live up to its name anymore. I will be happy when we are finally free of trying to keep up with these maniacs. If smu thinks they are getting into the P5 side of a P5-G5 split they are sure going to be sad when they find the Big Leagues have slimmed down to 32 teams. What a waste of money. The ACC is full of teams that can’t stay on the field with the real powers. Eventually those will actually never be on the same field. See ya later.
  17. If true that ACC members are considering this, then it shows how sad a situation the ACC is in. And this plan will not even come close to solving the source of their woes. As a fan also of an ACC school, which has particularly put itself in a dire situation over many years, it is absolutely sickening. Their leadership has been no better than ours, and I feel like if we had their clowns under the circumstances, NT wouldn’t even have a program anymore. That conference should just jettison clemson, fsu, vt and miami and go more toward the Ivy league mentality.
  18. They granted themselves the right to be in a crappy conference.
  19. "Kill the competition!" I like this guy's attitude.
  20. I would take those as regular opponents, especially for home games, over the east set.
  21. Things are moving fast! ACC already backed off once they realized the new 'Dallas University of Methodic Southerners' was really just SMU again.
  22. Next up for ACC: Liberty.
  23. Somehow I expect the more attractive 4 or so from each of the MW and AA will join the 4 PAC. That would probably leave us in no man's land.
  24. It really has more to do with whether your tickets are available at Costco.
  25. The fact it took them this long to realize it does not speak well for them.
