Whoever came up with 'Caw' or has gone along with it must have never seen and heard an eagle, whether live or on video. That is just sad. I think the reason for concern about it being officially promoted, is that the more people become aware of it, the more people will think NT is just sad. We've had enough of that. When I see that there is a billboard like that, it makes me feel sad, and hopeless. Same reaction as #Dentoning. Sad.

Most people have no idea that NT already played Army. If the weather is decent, most people there will have no idea what the teams' records are.

I think the conferences like to get more money not less money, to spread around. NT is making it rain. Meanwhile an outstanding Toledo team is slumming it in Montgomery.

Judging by the payouts this is a way better bowl than say the Boca Raton our conference champ is going to. And thanks, to whoever is responsible for NT not going to the Camellia Bowl. Please get out there and support the program. This is a great opportunity that NT is very fortunate to have.

If he gets 6 wins mostly from the group that tanked last year that is miracle worker territory so don't get too cozy.

It got a green bird or portion thereof on the helmet so has my support. I take this opportunity to mention the need for a green bird on the field too.

Of course Auburn does this and I have seen it there and it is inspiring. But they have a great vet school and a raptor center. It is a significant operation that must cost a lot of money for the trainers etc.

NT's decades of being mostly terrible have got to be a factor in recruiting. If we were a business we would be out of business because of the awful brand NT built in that regard. You can put out the 'Under New Management' sign, but if there was a restaurant that you knew was crap for decades that put out that sign, would you give it a try when there are a lot of other restaurants that don't have that reputation? If we can't recruit, we can't win; and if we can't win, we can't recruit. Poor management and support have dug about an impossible hole. This is one reason I say we can't just keep pace in spending. We would have to do something really splashy to possibly change recruits' minds and break the cycle.

I am traveling and couldn't watch but I followed the score on espn.com. This is an incredible win! I'm very happy the team gets to enjoy it. Army is a tough team and this performance by the Mean Green is very encouraging.

Our current arrangement is about the best it can be unless we can join MW or AAC. It might be good to jettison WK, FA and UTEP. Might take GState just for location. Need to keep TX State down.

No worries. It's all about fun and the player experience. You know what's fun? Seeing your team win. In modern Division 1 football, a team that is not extremely intense will lose most of the time. Some of you guys seem to be attending the wrong event. I wasn't even there. North Texas will have to get better before I start flying over for home games again. But some of the comments on here are mind-boggling. Take the pacifiers and security blankets out to the tiny tot games.

Who's taking point on getting word out to our opponents that they need to stop taking these rec league games so seriously?

This report combined with the leadership changes give me a lot of hope. The report is not just fans complaining. It is a lot harder to ignore.
