I don’t think they plan to change their name from Trojans to Mean Green. They just forgot we existed. But is this what we want North Texas to become?

There are some similarities and also some key differences. What’s the point anyway? That’s one of the biggest high schools in the country by far so it is exceptional. That is not exemplary of most HS stadiums. They are football crazy. If NT was that football crazy our stadium would seat 100K. Frankly I’m OK with not football crazy. We need to have a decent program but there are other priorities too. Stadium and locker rooms would be the least of things for smu to hold over us. But we have a lot more people yet still a lot less Aholes. I’m good with that.

I don’t go to the chicken board wherever it is. Why would they come here? The chicken administration has been more committed to their football program than NT’s. They have been more focused on building the chicken brand too. So they do some things right. As for the academic stature of the chicken university, see Forbes rankings. Also, many of the chicken fans are outright thugs. I like San Antonio the city though.

I was only answering the previous question. My exclamation and sentiment about the waste of resources is more based on the general desperate state of their program and their remote place in the world. Bringing back Price after 3-9 ending is sad no matter his age. But yeh, that they are having to bother someone out of his golden years is sad too.

The hyperbole of sports media is crazy. We won two games, one against a team just starting over. It’s like the other night I’m watching Virginia play their best game in many years against Boise, and the commentators are all breathless and ‘The ACC’s the most powerful conference!’ A few years ago it was ‘The ACC is dead!’ Don’t fall for it.

I have like a thousand channels on comcast and recently they jumbled all the numbers in a way that makes no sense, so I didn't even know I had Bein or this game on til after half. I was so encouraged by the halftime score, then I started to watch. No pressure on UAB QB was frustrating to see. But at least some guys made plays at the very end. It was a good ending but there was some really bad football mixed in with the good. Sure hope to see improvement next time.

So what are you hoping for next week??? And please don't confine that to NT's game or even just college games. There are several NFL games for example I'd like to know specifically what you're hoping for!

smu grossly underperformed for several years. We caught them a few years ago when things were sort of clicking for us and they were at a nadir. That will always be the exception to the smu - NT rule. It is a vastly superior institution with far more funds. There is no arguing it. You can dissect the particulars of this game but I wouldn't hold onto this result. It is true that years ago the NT leadership could have put us on a trajectory where we could expect to clobber smu every time. That didn't happen. Are we on that trajectory now? Probably not and I don't get paid to know how to accomplish that or whether, given all the factors, it can be accomplished. We don't have a history of great leadership. That is the problem. I guess I can thank coach Dickey for changing my interest level from looking at the scores, to being a former season ticket holder. But we never progressed from his limited success. It is a giant task. I don't know if the commitment is there or the people who are up to it.

If we can start off with plays to keep the pressure off, NT will win. Otherwise smu will blitz every down, even when they are on offense, and it will be a blowout.

That article is some woeful drivel. I wonder how much they paid him. NT should not be in a conference with them nor even play them and should stay as far away from them as possible. At some point it will become evident what a mistake it was to do a deal with them.

The pregame volume yes it's a little loud. Moreso I'd be interested to know who most of that pregame noise appeals to and what percent of the people that is. I guess if it's 100% of the Mean Green players, ok. It was my first time buying tickets at the west side ticket office. We had to ride the bus over cause of one visitor with limited mobility. That part the university got right and much appreciated. But the sun blasting into that ticket window area - wow. They need to put something up over there for both the purchasers' and the workers' benefit to block the sun when in that line.

I'd like to see what some of those would have been against Lamar instead. FAU has the Lane Kiffen mystique. SO Miss played Kentucky. And MT played their local rival Vanderbilt. This is not the time for bitching.
