Their leadership has made it a high priority. They have a high proportion of fan engagement. I’m not sure which caused the other. Either way they have managed to bake it into the mix. On the other hand you have Charlotte that is much more comparable to us. I see a pattern, and a distinction. And you can say, Charlotte didn’t even have football. Well there are reasons for that, and they are some of the same reasons we have had it but only rarely been good at it. But Appalachian is not immune from everything; if Carolina or NCS ever really starts to care about football and feels any pain in the recruiting from Appalachian, then Appalachian’s fortunes may suffer a turn for the worse.

Appalachian's success has nothing to do with sbc. Those people care about winning at football cause there's nothing else going on out there in the middle of the mountains where they are.

It seems like the pandemonium is because this one thing is being tracked like nothing ever before. It won’t be long before they find that the incidences of other things, and their possible connections to other other things, make life just too risky to live. It has been all along.

Until we have an athletic budget of more than $100 million per year, there’s not much good in playing them.

If they cancel stuff this year they may as well cancel it next year and the year after that and so on and on. All that the canceling is doing is delaying the inevitable.

Are we waiting on a vaccine? Are they going to make a vaccine for every virus and bacteria? Will we just wait 10 years until the virus has gone through the whole population? How many people die from unusual complications of other mostly ordinary infections? Maybe we should wait until all those run their courses. Maybe we should all live in individual bubbles until we all just die from being unable to reproduce or exist on planet Earth.
