  1. He's on the downward part of the career arc. No way.
  2. I put 'other' because current HC who has won is not specific enough. We need one who is winning this season and has been doing so in the immediate preceding seasons.
  3. Dodge could not have been the 'right hire' if he was stupid enough to think he could win in college with a HS staff. Same as then, we need someone who is currently winning as a HC at the FBS or FCS level. I'm not going to scour around to find out who that is. That's AD's job. I happen to follow Toledo for MACtion on whatever night of the week in November, and they're not so great this year but that guy has been doing pretty good. So there's an example.
  4. What makes any of you think this team can beat any FBS team?
  5. We've never had executive leadership that would commit enough to get the right people to build a winning program. The clods we've had over the years do lots of stupid things like our microscopic logo against all the real logos on the espn NCAAF weekly schedules. Stupid. Like AOD, I have no expectation that will ever change. I mean, I demand and reasonably should expect it, but maybe the people in Austin keep doing us in at the executive level. All the crap rolls down from there. We'd have to cause a mass scene down there for there to be a significant enough change. It's sickening.
  6. We've never won consistently. At this time I have 0 expectation we'll hire someone capable of winning consistently. It is important for university leadership to come out and say 'we're going to develop the fanbase and support, and put the people in place, to win consistently in FB'. Until then, don't get your hopes up.
  7. Yeah, go independent. I'm sure all the Methodists nationwide will flock to your cause.
  8. It's a trap. Does anyone remember what happened when we joined CUSA? Now, Memphis, smu and others forming new 'National' conference in 3...2...1...
  9. Decades of university administrations have been unable or unwilling to do what it takes to cure the cancer that is NT football. At this point we have to admit that it should be cut out before it spreads further and does more damage to the university.
  10. It is imperative that the football program be shut down. What a waste of a good stadium. Some people should be prosecuted.
  11. The contents of the letter are better suited for phone call(s). The letter seems like it is more for documentation purposes for possible use later, but the question is, for what.
  12. Has the AAC filed for the restraining order yet?
  13. It won't matter what conference we're in if we consistently lose more games than we win. That's all we've ever done, even in 1-AA. Until we establish a realistic expectation of winning more games than we lose, by doing so for several years, we won't be going anywhere but down. We have no foundation for sustained success. I'd even support dropping to FCS temporarily if it was based on a serious, demonstrated commitment by university leadership to consistently win at that level. After realizing that vision, then we would have a foundation on which to build. It would take several seasons of positive W-L.
  14. We'd have to break with history and hire a series of great football coaches for there to be consistent winning. Showing up or not at this point is not the problem.
  15. While GH has a winning personality and brought apparently all the positive energy the SL program had, he is not the right candidate for our HC at this time. We should bring in someone with a positive W-L record at another G5 or possibly an FCS.
  16. Getting the doors blown off right out of the gate and making a comeback effort that falls short is NOT good football. Please don't try to make a heroic effort out of it.
  17. No. The dude is a dud and his program is a dud. It's sickening. He's blaming poor play but he's the one responsible for recruiting players who play that way and for their motivation etc., or lack thereof. This university hires the worst football coaches. Please make a break from the past.
  18. It's North Texas! Do you really think they're going to hire someone better?
  19. We should deny them our essence, Mandrake.
  20. I've never been to Abilene. It seems like maybe not alot of information is making its way in there. I guess they have it in for SFA though.
  21. I can totally live without playing smu ever again.
  22. Oh the humanity! It’s so sad. I hope they end up in a conference with Liberty.
  23. Big 10 and SEC probably make moves that impact ACC. Probably have more to do with what happens with Big 12 leftovers than aac. tt, baylor, tcu and okst are bloodsuckers. Happy to see them writhing about in any event. Schools that can buy and negotiate their way out of ACC poison pill probably will.
