  1. Hated to root for Santonio but here we are.
  2. I don’t know how much they care. It’s like monopoly money. Many of them are just borrowing from Uncle Sam and hoping they don’t have to pay it back.
  3. Good point. Looking forward to bama having a Carolina Panthers - type series of seasons.
  4. He’s just doing what he’s paid to do. Daddy paper needs smu to be a big deal.
  5. Maybe if “all the billionaires” were to become trillionaires, then smu might win.
  6. Take away the courts, contracts and legal process and see what sort of ‘society’ you have.
  7. Glad for win especially since just last week I was in Appalachian’s arena for niece’s graduation. I figured the line was too generous, though it would have been achieved by more intently slowing the game down after building a solid second half lead. I expect our team will improve. They will need it for conference play.
  8. Moving to AA was not the problem. A lack of commitment to winning in AA was the problem. I have no interest whether NT has a ‘chance’ to play for a national championship. Nor any interest in whether the Texas Techs, TCUs etc of the world look up to or down on us. Nor whether there is tv money or the ability to watch the games on tv. Nor whether we get a share of the crumb that the ‘P4’ leave. I want a team that consistently wins more games than it loses, and especially so for the home games. I also very much do not want this team to play - not ever - against programs that have a much bigger budget and commitment to winning at whatever level. We can’t wait around for all this to keep shaking out; it is an endless slow death. I’ve had enough anyway but the changes in the industry require drastic and immediate action. The leadership of the university should figure out how to make that happen by appealing very directly in a funding campaign to the alumni and students and community, to support it. That would require a convincing plan about how to use the resources. Those plans, commitment and appeals are what we have never had from this university. North Carolina of all places is spending $10 million a year for an NFL coach. We cannot be part of the same league as this anymore.
  9. E$PN will celebrate any team with scandals or money or both, but once TX and a&m feel any pain from $mu, then the process will be started to reduce them to miniature donkeys again.
  10. The others are shown later cause they haven’t been scheduled yet.
  11. Albany is thereby added to the list of schools I did not know is in the FCS.
  12. Nah what I’m saying is if he is playing for Virginia, then when they face VT who we (I went to Virginia after NT) play each year and never beat, then he will be sacked into the ground by VT. Try to imagine being a fan of not just NT but also Virginia which must get the least bang for the buck of any football team. It’s sad they are even looking at this dude.
  13. Look they’re never going to get past spelling that with a ‘k’.
  14. For God’s sake. This can hardly get any worse for me. Well he will find himself in one of the absolute worst programs and athletic departments in the country. If he gets to play, Virginia Tech will probably send him to his grave at the end of the season.
  15. Marshall is also a victim, not one to be punished. And this couldn’t be solved by legislation in a thousand years. Besides, the legislators are mostly owned by bigger money programs that are best served by the current situation. So it wouldn’t be solved by that. I don’t see a good future for this as an industry.
  16. Some of us just take a little longer to complete our studies than others.
  17. Doesn't matter. Half those players will be gone when the Band Transfer Portal opens up.
  18. I am doubting E Carolina and Santonio have more money for this than we do. We should be able to beat those teams. Had we done so, we wouldn’t be having any of these conversations.
  19. This is the reality now, for every team. Re-recruiting for transfers at positions every year. The staffs that are good at it will succeed. We just need people who are better at it than others at our level. It is a challenge, but also an opportunity. It can never be used as an excuse, cause every team faces it.
  20. It is quite a sad commentary that several on here are only willing to go to a bowl if it's a short drive. That is exactly the level of commitment that has us NOT going to a desirable winter destination for a bowl. I want to blame leadership for going along with this 'Dinner For Schmucks' situation, but maybe they ARE just playing the cards they're dealt.
  21. He's gonna miss the mountains.
  22. If the irony of playing someone other than $mu in their stadium at this time is lost on you, then you are still in the Matrix.
  23. It’s the kind of hire we’ve done once in basketball - with great results - but have never managed in football.
  24. It won’t feel so homey when you are outnumbered by Bobcats 3 to 1. I have a sense they have done more to build school spirit in their general population.
  25. And we should call Sammy and SFA and see if we can get the band back together. 🤪
