Thunderous second-half beatdown!

The other day I scanned alot of game attendance numbers. Outside the power conferences and a few historical basketball powers, there doesn’t seem to be alot of attendance. For us and comparable teams, I think unless the winning consistently for a long time goes into the postseason, there’s a fairly low ceiling on it unfortunately. I’d have been at the women’s game today but for a medical emergency, that thankfully has been resolved. I really respect what they have done this year. I’d just not get worked up about attendance, unless there is solid evidence we’re underperforming on a relevant comparative basis.

I guess I had no idea what was at stake! Really it was just that I was vomited out of the arena by the bad feelings from watching our team act like they were playing the Washington Generals.

Ridiculous. I've been a college basketball fan for decades and this is unprecedented in my experience. Your name calling would be better applied to the sad pass attempts etc.

Score only 13 points in a half, I leave at halftime. Glad I did.

It's not near enough. For comparison, from 82 to 96, Memphis made the Tournament almost every year. We've never had anything like that, and you can't compare us to other teams that play in places where there's almost nothing else to do. No doubt there is an exceptional culture issue in the faculty, students and graduates, but that is part of the fabric of NT.

Sustained winning is the only thing that will fix attendance.

Baby Crawl was worth the trip in any event. But slamming the door on Atlantic in the second half at home was way more satisfying.

Just got off a plane. This NT basketball team keeps delivering good news!

Though the end of last year’s game in Greenville was thrilling, this kind of second half is easier on my heart!

It is the brainchild of a small group of separatists working to gain independent statehood for Denton county. Same people who came up with ‘#Dentoning’.

They want to exclude us and others. Great. We and others need a framework for competing independently of them. I look forward to it. Who’s working on it?

State fans showed up because they rightfully expected to win in this game. If the AD thinks they're going to depend on people to show up just cause NT has a team there, they are dead wrong. There are a few, but there are many many more who will not show up when they don't think their team will win. There are too many obligations and opportunities to devote precious time and money watching a team lose.

Meanwhile the basketball team has been easy to love. Don’t forget about them.
