He probably doesn't know himself if he'll be at NT in 2019. If he does know, it's probably something he won't want to become generally known until after this season is over.

Enrollment diversity is not 'dumbing down'. Grade inflation et al. is. We should be attracting as many bright, well-motivated, well-prepared students as possible. Never mind their skin color. Never mind their 1st language. Never mind their ethnicity. And you're right, 'how' you attempt to accomplish this is a very different topic.

The reason for being of a university is academics.

I understand. But, it's happening at UNT too.

Science is never 'settled' Rick. It's always tentative. It's always open to reinterpretation as more information or more analysis becomes available. That's the difference between science and religion. That's one difference between science and pseudoscience.

Sarcasm aside, this is an important issue. We're seeing the dumbing down of American Higher Education - Reduced admission standards, grade inflation, giving college credit for 'life experiences', questionable online coursework. The university isn't what it used to be and that's unfortunate.

Statistics support, not prove.

Not true, I'll bet he could get us in whatever conference Liberty belongs to. And he just may.

I have too much respect for you to think you believe Mason Fine is the only example of a two-star or un-starred player who was successful. As for the coaching staffs who feed that info to the raters, which players do you think they're going to tout? Maybe the players they expect to sign? That might make them look real good to their fans.

If we ever want talk of SOS, rankings, and better bowl invites to be relevant for UNT we need to schedule better opponents than IWU & Liberty.

Example, not just an exception.

We got Fine with no other FBS offers. That seems to be working okay.

I think I would rather have 2 or 3 classes in a row are in line with Mason Fine's class. By the way, I'm not putting down the 2019 class. They seem like solid recruits & I trust UNT coaches to find kids that fit NT's schemes & who are motivated to succeed at UNT. I just couldn't care less how many stars a fat guy in Minneapolis gave them.

Before we get too excited let's see if all these three stars contribute more to the success of their team than the lower rated players they replace. The proof is in the pudding.

The "national press" is more about entertainment than reporting news. The Right watches Fox to hear what the Right wants to hear. The Left watches CNN to hear what the Left wants to hear. We should expect better from a college newspaper.

That isn't something an ethical reporter says unless he has a significant amount of confirmation. Hopefully the Daily writer was confident in his sources.
