You & I have disagreed a lot - especially about RV, but when it comes to RV's treatment of DD, you have been right-on.
-
It's really not off topic - the same processes that resulted in Coach Dickey being fired are already working now. Coach Dickey pissed off a lot of fans & he pissed off the new AD - too bad. He won & his players respected him. That's enough for me.

The 'if' qualifies the second sentence, not the first.

Actually, it was B. Gooding who said, "Seth Littrell has all but proven he can't do that. If he can't do that, he can't win here (or anywhere)." Sounds like Mr. Gooding has made up his mind about Coach Littrell after a single year. Of course, Ben isn't typical. I think part of the reason this discussion bothers me so much is that it reminds me of the foolishness that this board spewed at Coach Dickey. Even after 4 bowls and 4 Coach of the Year awards there were some who thought he ran too many draws and ought to be fired.

I have no idea whether Coach Littrell is the next Hayden Fry but I am willing to give him more than one season (a season in which his team showed impressive improvement over the year before) to prove himself.

I'll be interested in who we sign on Wednesday. It won't matter though what I think about our signees. Like nearly everyone on this board I am ignorant about college athletics. None of us will know whether this class was successful for three, four, or even five years. At that time it won't matter whether a kid has 4 stars or 5 offers from UT, Alabama, & the ilk. In the meantime I'll be rooting for each and everyone of the kids that sign with my school.

It's not that hard '90.

The Mean Green Future Just Seems More Bright Than Ever Before

Success on offense starts up front. I would like to see 10 really big, really ugly dudes rise to the challenge. That will help a young qb & open holes for our rbs. -
A true Texan would never leave the matter in doubt. Trump wants to put the wall on the wrong river.

That would explain a great deal.

I must be civil. I must be civil. I really must be civil.

Bingo! Maybe the bad stuff doesn't have any effect on a recruit or his parents, but maybe it does. Isn't the smart thing to not take that chance? Is it too much to ask that we hold the negativity down at least until after signing day?

I wish I could give this post a +2. -
I expect a signing class composed of good athletes that fit UNT's needs. I care about what our coaches think. What the rest of us thinks means damn little.

I remember being at a UNT/Baylor game during Coach Dickey's tenure at UNT. By the time I got back to Denton there were a dozen posts complaining about the number of draws he called. BS. Those folks wouldn't know a draw if it was run right over them. Not every run between the tackles is a draw.

Among high schools I always liked the Port Lavaca Sand Crabs.

'Blue Hens' - that has to be the most god-awful team name in existence.

MGB: Source confirms Biagi is UNT's new assistant

Not if he was working on a graduate degree at ND. -
I don't think this is going to happen. And if it does I can't imagine it being successful long-term. That's a shame though because not all athletes should be going to college. A kid should go to college to get an education - playing a sport should be secondary.
-
Remember, the Music School has been immensely successful for a very long time. They bring national & international recognition to UNT. They've earned the support they get from the University. Athletics needs to earn that same level of support.

I went back and gave Shaft a +1.

Huge leap to a conclusion. You may want to gather a bit more data.
