Yes. Though I suspect you & I define the socialists, communists, illegal aliens, generations of welfare dependents, baby-killers, and the something-for-nothing crowd differently. For instance, I suspect by "baby-killers" you're referring to abortion of an early embryo. I've seen 1st trimester embryos & I've seen babies - they aren't the same. By 'communist' I suspect you mean the red-threat to America & the Free World. To me a communist is a mostly historical entity that has little reality in today's world. By "illegal aliens" I think you mean the nefarious, unclean, sub-humans who are stealing our wealth & raping our women. To me they are the ambitious, hard-working folks who make our country stronger. By "generations of welfare dependents" I think you mean the poor.

UAB is much better than most folks thought in August. Of course, UNT is too.

It's the first quarter. It's a bit early for hysterics.

You're right. It's hard to be sure what anyone means by 'assault rifle'. When I see an AR-15 I think assault rifle. When I see a Remington Ranch rifle I don't think assault rifle. They're both semi-automatic rifles but the perception is different. Do people buy the two weapons for the same reason? Question for all of you. What restrictions in gun sales would you support?

I'm not sure why any UNT 'supporter' would try so hard to paint Mean Green history with a negative brush. -

Again: 4 conference championships & bowl appearances 4 conference coach-of-the year awards 2 National rushing title winners 24 game conference winning streak You don't appreciate those accomplishments? Sad. -

You should be happy DD was fired if you think he was replaced by someone better. That certainly wasn't true for replacements 1 & 2. The success of replacement 3 is yet to be determined. It is interesting that it's taken UNT over a decade to find a coach that may be better. -

It's amazing how long grudges are held. And why? Because DD didn't have a great relationship with RV (a person many of these same DD-haters loathed) & because he hurt the delicate sensitivities of a few $100-a-year supporters. -

Climate Change - Gov Report
GTWT replied to GTWT's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
"In a statement, White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said that “the climate has changed and is always changing”..." The White House has read the same Maya paper as you. "and pointed to a line in the report that concluded the future of climate change depends primarily on “remaining uncertainty in the sensitivity of Earth's climate to [greenhouse gas] emissions.”..." Yes, it's funny how science works. One must always acknowledge 'uncertainty'. "The report said, with “very high confidence,” that the magnitude of climate change will also depend on the “amount of greenhouse gases emitted globally” over the next few decades." In other words the report says that scientists have a mass of evidence that supports the conclusion that the earth is warming, that man is the primary cause, and that the rate, magnitude, & effects of change will be determined by how much fossil CO2 we pump into the atmosphere. “The administration supports rigorous scientific analysis and debate and encourages public comment on the draft documents being released today,” Shah said. This translates to, "The Trump administration will continue to obfuscate, deny, and caste doubt on any science that is counter to our economic, political, or ideological bias." “To address climate change as well as other risks, the U.S. will continue to promote access to the affordable and reliable energy needed to grow economically, and to support technology, innovation and the development of modern and efficient infrastructure that will reduce emissions and enable us to address future risks, including climate related risks." This simply means the Trump administration will continue to do what it pleases regardless of the consequences. By the way, did you read where President Trump's Energy Secretary, Rick Perry, says fossil fuels can prevent rape in Africa? http://nypost.com/2017/11/02/rick-perry-claims-fossil-fuels-can-prevent-rape-in-africa/ -

Rick, yes the consensus is that climate change (drought et al.) was at least partially responsible for the fall of the Mayan high civilization. There's a difference between that event & the current one. The drought in Central American had natural causes - what's happening today is anthropogenic. We are causing it & we can do something about it. You may want to read the executive summary of the report we're discussing - https://science2017.globalchange.gov/ -

Yes, if the Mayans were doing something to cause the drought such a report may have led them to do something to ameliorate the effects of their behavior. That would have been the intelligent thing for the Maya to do. -
Whining like that in the hard times shows lack of class. Unfortunately it's not limited to the UTSA fans.

I've been to all our N.O. Bowls. I loved it. BUT we didn't have to play against a Sun Belt team then, we would now.

It's ridiculous that the highest salary on the UAB campus is paid to a coach.
