  1. The only thing that was missing from the win at the Cotton Bowl yesterday was Bourbon Street.
  2. I was (as well as others on the board) personally told by the ticket office that this was caused by the UNT post office being closed on Friday. So was it a miscommunication between the ticket agents and the alumni OR was it a miscommunication between the ticket office and the post office? Is the ticket office lying to us or did they screw-up on multiple fronts?
  3. I was in the same boat but decided to take time off from work today and drive up to Denton instead of going to Will Call on game day. I'm glad I did. I had ordered and paid for 19 tickets but when I opened the envelope there were only 18 tickets in it. Since there were not any open seats left in that section, they had to issue me all new seats so they would all be together. I couldn't imagine trying to work this out at Will Call just before kick-off. I don't understand how we can afford to hire a Head of Basketball Operations but can't afford to hire a Ticket Office Manager.
  4. Which one will be closest to Will Call?
  5. Please look away and pretend everything is OK. If anyone else mentions this incident immediately challenge their loyalty to the program. If that doesn't work, blame FedEx. It is not the Athletic Department's fault, they are trying as hard as they can. Just be happy that we are going to a bowl game, even though you may not be able to watch the bowl game because you will not be able to get your tickets in time due to the ticket shell game.
  6. All of this arguing could of been avoided if only the kid workings at Kinko's was put in charge of mailing out tickets instead of the Athletic Department.
  7. I'll try to keep this in mind when I am standing in the UNT Will Call line New Year's Day morning watching an 80 year old lady fumble through various shoe boxes full of tickets that she set-up on a folding card table in some dark corner of the Cotton Bowl. I'm sure there will be a cozy County fair feeling to the whole thing.
  8. I'm in the same boat, I was told on 12/17 when I bought them that they would be mailed to me via the USPS. When I called them yesterday to find out what happened they told me I would now have to pick them up. So now I can either spend an hour and a half driving to Denton/Omni and back or skip tailgating to stand in the Will Call line on game day. All of this could of been avoided with a 47 cent stamp if the ticket office would of mailed them like they told me they would. I would email RV and I'm sure he will make it right for you. P.S. I really thought our program was far enough along where we could handle something as simple as mailing tickets. I understand why everyone wants to sweep this under the rug or point fingers as someone else (FedEx), but this program is not going to move forward unless we hold people accountable for incompetence.
  9. I'm sure the ticket office had something to do with it.
  10. I called today and was told that the reason the tickets were not mailed out on Friday was that the UNT post office was closed last Friday. Who exactly manages the ticket office? This isn't rocket science.
  11. I'm still waiting on the tickets I ordered 10 days ago. What is the point of sending them FedEx if it takes over a week for them to travel 30 miles? Even pony express could of delivered them same day.
  12. I live next store in Keller and find myself in Watauga about once per month. Watagua is transitioning from a more rural area to a typical DFW suburb. Be careful where you buy, the quiet ranch that is next store to your new house may become a Super Wal-Mart 5 years from now.
  13. When we beat Oregon State at Fout's in 1995. It was only one of only two wins that year and it was against a legitimate D1 program.
  14. I would contact the UNT Athletic Department. They should have his contact info.
  15. As a compromise I suggest we put up a Tony Denton picture and keep it up so long as he has a winning record. Right now he is 2-0.
  16. Thanks for posting this!
  17. Put me down for 3 maybe's, still trying to work out logistics.
  18. I don't think McCarney likes cold weather. Now if he had an offer from a Florida school I would be worried.
  19. You really need to stop stalking RV. They are serious about that restraining order.
  20. I don't think anyone would be surprised about us being ahead of UTEP, UTSA and Tex St. TCU and Tech, yes.
  21. Kick-off is over a week from now. There is a 90% chance that the forecast will change.
  22. Keep in mind that the HoD bowl doesn't have to take a team from CUSA. They can take a team from the Big 12 instead.
  23. I heard UTSA is going to treat this game as their bowl game.
  24. How much money are we actually talking about here? It takes what, 30 minutes to escort the bus X 2 UNT police officers X $20 per hour = $20? If they weren't escorting the bus would they still be on the clock doing something else? If so, it doesn't cost anything extra. I doubt they come into work just to escort the bus for 30 minutes.
