My card was addressed to George Clinton. I didn't even realize GC was a member of the Mean Green Club!

So if AK-47's brother comes to UNT do we call him AK-74? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ak-74

Sun Belt Attendance Report (12/20/10)
Green Jackal replied to Mean Green Matt's topic in Mean Green Basketball
So far it looks like attendance is cut by about a third when the students go home for the winter break. -
So Long To The Mean Green Club Deck?
Green Jackal replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
There are plenty of people with kids buying club level seats. We are trying to pay-off a $78 million stadium. Alumni need to reach deeper into their pockets, just like we have asked the students to do. If you have a college degree and all you can afford is a $250 donation per year, you have bigger problems. -

Not everybody here squeeks when they walk. -
So Long To The Mean Green Club Deck?

I could see them selling about half this year and then selling an additional 5% - 10% each year after that. I don't think they built it in hopes of selling it out the first year, otherwise they should of put in a lot more seats. -

I was told that the $3,125 donation covers your $500 donation for the first 5 years. So really it is $650 per year ($3,125/5 years) + $350 for tickets for an even $1,000 per seat, per year. After that it is $850 per year ($500 + $350). If you had been donating $500 per year + $125 for season tickets your were paying $625 per year + the cost of food/non-alcoholic drinks that are included in the club level. I think donating $850 - $1,000 per year to the program is reasonable, especially since most of it is tax-deductible. Now if you bring your whole family to every game then I could see how club seating could be outside of some people's budgets. But that is why there are only 700 seats versus 30,000 regular seats. -
I was wondering the same thing.

It is not the cost of admission that is keeping people from going to games. Students get in free and we have maybe 5% of the student population show-up. The rest (professors, alumni, others) can easily afford an $8 ticket. Going to a game requires a 3 - 4 hour commitment depending on where you live in the area. We have to compete against the other things that people have going on in their lives (studying, jobs, family, watching Dancing with the Stars, etc). An $8 ticket is nothing compared to 3 - 4 hours of someone's time. We have to convince people to invest their time into watching and supporting this team. I think the product is there, we just need to do a better job at promoting it. If you asked 100 students/Denton residents "How is the UNT basketball team doing this year", how many do you think could answer this question?

Unless you can find it on channelsurfing.com, this may be your only option: http://www.meangreensports.com/liveEvents/liveEvents.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=1800

How about MacChico? Sounds like something off the McDonald's value menu.

The number of guests you can bring is based on your level of giving in the Mean Green Club.

What is really strange is that he started the tweet in the 3rd person and ended it in the 1st person.

Alumni donations. If we want to keep upgrading coaching, we need to keep raising salaries.

I would break out our fans into the following groups: The I Told You So's - The biggest critics of McCarney who secretly want to see him fail. They include those who are related to other candidates and others who have criticized the choice and just want to be proved right. The Never Good Enough's - These are the people who were calling for Dickey's head during our 26 game conference win streak because we weren't winning enough non-conference games. Until we start beating the Longhorn's, the current program is just not good enough for them. Win Now Fans - These fans don't want to wait until McCarney can get his recruits in here. They will expect an 8 win season next year. Patient Fans - They understand that it will take time for the new coach to turn around the program. They are satisfied as long as they see steady improvement. They tend to focus more on the big picture instead of knee jerk reactions. Green Kool-Aid Crew - The most optimistic of the fans, they blindly support the program. They still think Dodge could of turned the program around if given more time.

Canales went 2-3 as a head coach, which means McCarney has 54 more wins as a head coach than Chico.

The players should sue Leach for libel and slander for calling their girlfriends "fat" during the post-game press conference last year.

Due to the students being out for Thanksgiving, I would guess 20k.

Timmy Mac Joins The Twitter Prediction Party
Green Jackal replied to Quoner's topic in Mean Green Football
I can see it now, the new HC is lead to the middle of the court prior to tip-off with a paper bag over his head hiding his identity. The paper bag has a big question mark drawn on the front of it. The band starts a drum roll and RV walks over and pulls the bag off his head revealing our new HC! -
I think if anything they would give you a ticket before they would tow you.

Yes, Rushing The Court May Have Been Unnecessary...
Green Jackal replied to NTerock's topic in Mean Green Basketball
The obvious solution to all of this is bring in the Denton SWAT team for the next big game. They can stand shoulder to shoulder in full riot gear facing the Pit Crew. When the Pit Crew tries to rush the court after the win, the SWAT team can start handing out justice LAPD style. That way we can save ourselves the embarrassment of the opposing fans seeing us rush the court and as an added bonus we can get the local media coverage we are craving. -
I don't know who TCH is but, I bet SMU wouldn't go for it. Since UTA and UNT already play each other every year, we would just need to convince TCU and SMU. Maybe you let them host it the first 2 years as an incentive.
