I would think that MOST of the time they do not like you STEBO
-
Gerry Faust anyone?????
-
maybe he can mix in a FB or TE in the red zone package....... oh wait we dont have any... oh wait, that would mean Dodge would have to admit his is wrong and I dont see that coming....
-
if it does not pass...i will still support the Mean Green ..but only as a FCS D1-AA team... i can not take another 10 years of butt kickings in D1 if we will not have the financial support of the school..ie stadium.. bring on SFA and Texas St.

http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/9249838/11074739 1. North Texas (0-6) LW #1- Still #1 with a thud, the Mean Gangreen managed to make Louisiana Lafayette look like an Arena Football team. Do they even have a defensive coordinator at North Texas. Tony Franklin could come up with a scheme to score on these guys. This week is the last chance for a win the Mean Gangreen will have this season. Louisiana Monroe hosts North Texas. I tell you guys, if you don't win this one, then drop out of the Sun Belt and join the Texas State Intermural Flag Football League. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll let you guys wear your helmets and shoulder pads to even the playing field. Good Luck....

Yes, but the true spread it is not. OU has several gifted TE's that can roam in the middle of the zone, not to mention speedy WR's to go deep. If anything I think the OU offense is a hybrid...very similar to Mizzou. My point is, the UNT Dodge spread does not work in the D1 landscape of college football..just my opinion....
-
Maybe just maybe, the Spread offense has been figured out by D1 Def cordinators... we may be seeing the end of the spread, not the begining. my limited coaching knowledge tells me unless you have a dual threat Vince Young running the show at QB, the spread can and will be shut down. A hybrid spread like Mizzou runs can work...if you a solid TE and QB like Chase Daniel...at least it works until you run into a Def with size and speed....(see OU)

we are ranked ahead of Stony Brook bring on the SeaWolves... actually their DAMM stadium is nicer than ours!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/polls/120/index2 closest Belt team is Monroe at 112 Western Kentucky is in at 106 we are only one of two (Washington) that are winless Even more depressing is the Sagrins Ratings http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt08.htm we check in at 180...BEHIND SFA

the attendence will be minus 2 from whatever it usually is...because my two seats will be empty.... not a boycott, just going out of town however, I can not give these puppies away...not a soul wants them.. I fear we have lost the causual fan.. hell I might nail them to the commons area and let some poor student sit on the old man side of the stadium but then again he might never come back if it is as lame as it was last Sat night..... ULL 49 UNT 0

I have another theory, opinion, hypothesis on the coach. I do think the coach has a lot to do with this current situation. Is it stubborness, arrogance or simply being overwhelmed. i think he is suffering growing pains on the job, I just hope he can turn it around HERE and become a great coach. I hope he learns from his mistakes HERE and does not go on to somewhere else to apply what he learned HERE.

That was my fear the minute they hired Jones......they can offer the same "lifestyle" many of Dodge's recruits are familiar with. I think winning cures all...and a brand new stadium would not hurt either. I have faith Dodge save this ship, but he better hurry before the USS Mean Green takes on any more water
-
I wanted to start off by saying this is just a HYPOTHESIS on why a few of Dodges recruits are leaving..I have no inside info on this...... My theory is many of Dodge's recruits are kids coming from large affluent 5A schools with in some cases better facilities (ie stadium) then we have. Not the Athletic center, that is first class.. But many of these 5A programs have better school spirit and community support. They are also use to being pampered and or sheltered from the real world. When they get here they realize they are not in their "safe zone" anymore. The fact that many have the resources to go to a private school and do not NEED football as an escape. I think you throw in losing everyweek, sometimes 77-20 and you have a 19-20 year old kid wondering "what they heck am I doing here!" Again this is just my HYPOTHESIS. I know many programs have kids leave after a year or two. I just hope and pray the stadium passes and Dodge gets this thing rolling again.....I miss walking out of Fouts with a "W".. GO MEAN GREEN

Can the 1st conference game on October 4th be a must win????? I think this is a MUST WIN for Dodge Saturday night. if not , we may stay on the top (or bottom) of the list for the rest of the year.

http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/9249838/10793592 1. North Texas (0-4) LW #3- Absence of Malice- 1981 Absence of malice? How about absence of defense!? Good Lord....77 points! Are you kidding me! Way to go Mean Gangreen, you are our new #1. Even if you take away the 2 pick sixes, that's still 9 touchdowns you guys gave up. I'm sure there isn't any absence of malice for Todd Dodge with the North Texas faithful. But at the very least you guys are #1 on someone's poll. Next up, a game I thought for sure the Mean gangreen could win but now not so much, North Texas host Florida International. Their only chance now is to hope FIU is hung over from the partying. More on that later.
