  1. Did you go to the game? I can't say that I'd blame anyone for wanting to sit at home for that game. It was miserable.

Yes I was there, I have to rank that game in my top 5 coldest games I have ever attended. At least it was not snowing and the wind was not howling.

And I am not basing our need for a new stadium on one cold, wet, November game, however I think it does show our (City, Alumni, Students) lack of support for the University. We need to support in Good (Bowls and Conference titles) and Bad (1-9, 40 degree) times.

GO MEAN GREEN! Lets end this season on a high ....Beat FIU

  2. Listen I am not questioning anyones fandom or dedication to the Mean Green

But if we have any plans on being anything more than a low rung team in a bottom feeding conference, we have got to have more than 2000 fans in the stands.

There is no reason we cant be in the same postition as the Nevada's and Tulsa's of the college football world!

  3. Yeah those are all real good schools to compare Lets see we were 1-9, it was cold and rainy and we were playing a D1-AA school

Arizona St was 9-1 and playing USC

Texas A&M was playing Texas - RIVAL

Kentucky was playing Tennessee - RIVAL

Georgia Tech was playing Georgia - RIVAL

Florida was playing Florida State - RIVAL

Hawaii was undefeated and playing Boise St. for the WAC Championship and possible BCS Bowl Bid

Colorado was playing Nebraska - RIVAL

LSU was #1 in the country and playing Arkansas for a chance to stay in the National Championship Picture

App. St was in the D-1AA playoffs

So yeah your right, I dont see a difference

    Get REAL!!!!!!!!!!

if the Navy game was this week we would stilll have had 82 fans in the students sections. Our fan base likes the tailgating and to be seen...NOT FOOTBALL!

oh I would say we have about 2000 real UNT football fans....2000, gee thats about what the attendence was!

  4. so exactly where were the other 95K alumni in the metroplex at?? You can blame the students only so much when it is a holiday weekend and the team is less than great this year, why would they come out?

Die-hard alumni will come out in anything but fence-alumni and students need something more than cold rain.

    Agreed! good point! gGreat Point!

But until we can get more than 2000 fans in the stands and 82 students to show up, how in the hell can we justify a new stadium! I know if I was part of the Admin I would not spend a dime on our sorry a$$e$!

  5. Very! I mean, with this being one of the few weekends that students can go home to all corners of the state and spend a decent amount of time with family, I fully expected them to all speed back to campus in the rain to watch a 1-9 team play a I-AA school.

True, I saw the same problem this weekend at Arizona St, A@M, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Florida, Hawaii, Colorado, LSU, Applachian St... etc...etc...etc.....

Thats why we are what we ARE!

  6. why are we so obsessed with pissing in someone elses pool when we can not even hit our own toilet here in the Sun Belt.

Dominate the Belt first then maybe when our aim is better we can move to bigger things, unless the Sun Belt con't to improve and surpasses CUSA, MAC, and WAC.

1-9 is like pissing in the sink!

1-11 will be like taking a dump in the tub!

Lets focus on winning more than one game first.

  7. In this day in age, parity is the answer to why all these sunbelt games and other games around the country turn out like they do.

ULM over Bama. WKU almost knocking off Troy but also beating MTSU.

It's not how far UNT has been falling off, its how far all the teams are catching up.

No game in Mid level conference play is a gimme or a sure thing. No one would have predicted that Tulsa would have crushed U of H. They would be lying if they did.

WKU seems to be the real deal. Their defense is extremely solid.

Please, 10 years ago we held our own vs Oregon St, Texas Tech, Boise St, Kansas etc....WKU may be up and coming, but give me a break we should be better than this!!!!!!

  8. some how my son said that we were better than Ohio State, cause we beat Monroe and they beat Bama and they beat KY and so on until we were better that most of D1 schools. The boy is watching too much ESPN before school. If anyone can figure how we are better than Ohio State let me know.

UNT beat Monroe, who beat Bama, who beat Tennessee, who beat Georgia, who beat Kentucky, who beat #1 LSU...therefore we are better than LSU!!!

    BCS Baby!

  9. The analogy comes from stating the obvious. I am fat, It does no good for someone to inform me of the fact. Those folks cant lose weight for me. Our D is the worst in D1 and Todd Dodge knows it already. We don't need a web site to bring attention to it. It is just silly. I believe our first year coach will be doing what ever he can to fix our Defense.

But you might be humilated enough to get your fat butt off the couch and out to a gym!

Maybe Dodge will be humilated enough (, 1-11, losing recruits) to make a change!!!!

  10. Looks like we are also playing K-State in 2010. AND IT IS IN DENTON!!!!!!!!!!!!

No chance in Hell they come here unless we have a new stadium by 2010......

  11. If you're going to be sleeping with your stuff (i.e. in a RV or something), you can show up Friday night. If you park your car there Friday night and leave, it'll be towed with a quickness.

The Orange parking lot opens for paying customers at 7:30 AM on Saturday morning.

I can't stress enough: if you leave your car there over night, it WILL be towed.

Thanks for the info, I will have beer in hand ready to roll by 8 am!
