  1. Please post more often. Not even kidding. Please.
  2. Not even. They got manhandled. UNT Sacks--1 (by Mason) TFL's--2 (by Mason) QBH's--0 Rice Sacks--3 TFL's--9 QBH's--3
  3. Nail on the head. Good observations.
  4. Harris is not always the first read. And reads don't matter if you have only 1 receiver who can get open with any consistency. The QB can only sit there for so long before he will either be sacked or have to run/throw the ball away. Easy to "distribute" the ball when the receivers are open and actually catch it consistently.
  5. Well, that's part of the life of a receiver. They don't get thrown the ball in neat little windows unless they can get the heck away from their defender. That's not happening on a regular basis. Yeah, the QB's have made their share of bad throws--no doubt. But there are two people at each end of every pass--not just the QB. I would go so far as to say there is usually 1 person at the originating end, and recently there have been more like 2-3 people at the receiving end, only 1 of which is desirable to have there at all. I thought it was comical that the announcers made such a big deal about Chelf's catch and how acrobatic it was. McNulty hit him in the hands with it, and he nearly dropped it because he didn't look it into his hands and tuck it.
  6. Yeah. Personally I think you're getting a little too wound up about some coach speak.
  7. I think it boils down to a lack of playmakers at receiver at the moment. I think Kidsy is going to be good, but none of the receivers save Harris are able to consistently get open. OL is not playing particularly well. RB's are missing blocking assignments. Lots of problems right now on offense, and that compounds the QB inexperience issue. DL plays hard but is undersized and wears down because offense can't score or stay on the field. And that's pretty much that.
  8. This. If Williams can get his head together I think he is the future because he definitely has the ability. Remains to be seen though.
  9. I don't disagree. However I will add that the young WRs need to be ready next year. Outside of Harris I'm not seeing enough.
  10. Regarding KU, they have some NFL caliber players at WR and their QB is legit. Regarding Brown at SMU--he immediately has SMU in the conversation with a lot of kids and coaches. And their fundraising and attendance will see at least a short term jump.
  11. Happy birthday!
  12. Hopefully the same thing will happen for our receivers.
  13. No coach worth a crap starts a guy who won't put in the effort or attitude--by his own admission--required. Not going to happen unless it is the only option.
  14. Why would you want a sh!tbag as coach? It was sh!tbag, right?
  15. Maybe we could have challenged for a spot in the conference championship and made a bowl game.
  16. Because everything will magically be better if only the QB is different/changed/the guy *I* want. Or, it will improve if we fire the OC, or just throw the damn ball more.
  17. Because the DL is undersized and cannot afford to man up on the larger OL's they are facing, I'm guessing? Makes sense then.
  18. Yeah, I have to agree with the Finch. Many mentioned defense as an issue. Vito in particular pounded on it, and several did here, as well. But there was a lot of "whew, now that DT is gone, we'll really be good" nonsense. I will say this--I haven't had a big problem with the OL play up to this point. I think a lot of the issue is that WR's are not getting open, and QB's are holding the ball too long in a lot of cases. DL is shaky right now for sure.
  19. Buffalo is and apparently always will be a dumpster fire.
  20. Why wouldn't we be, indeed.
  21. The fact of the matter is you don't know how these kids are going to perform in a game situation until you put them in that situation. All of them lack experience in battle, and it's painfully obvious. Regarding Williams reps--that's on him. Hard to assess someone who doesn't practice consistently or know the plays he should. That's in the past, though.
  22. This is the takeaway. There are no war daddies on this team at the moment. Or not enough. More junkyard dogs are required. Who is going to step up?
  23. It's a bit. This place has turned into exactly what I thought it would this season regarding QB play. It's what it is.
