  1. Would you be happy with maybe 7-9 wins every year, a mid-tier bowl, but few (if any) conference championships?
  2. I was actually watching the video for "When You Come To Me" on the YouTube, which you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_22icKMueg And my 15 year old daughter (watching off and on from across the room) says: "He's kind of cute from far away." And, my wife came into the room to see who it was. These are good signs. Plus, I think Brant has one of the Maines clan playing on the record, IIRC.
  3. Not sure what that means, but ok.
  4. Buy his new record. One of UNT's own.
  5. Will be at a funeral, unfortunately.
  6. Just to clear up the confusion: I always close the door to the bathroom and open a window. I think that's what He may have been referring to.
  7. Maybe "the great equalizer" 15 years ago. It's certainly not now. If you can't play defense then it's a non-factor. UNT should never run a true run and gun spread. Ever.
  8. I saw more from the defense last week than I expected, frankly. UTEP will be the toughest remaining game,IMO. Defense will have to play like last weekend to give UNT their best shot.
  9. The spread (sling and fling version) is most easily defeated by: #1, A defense that can pressure the QB, tackle well, and stop the run. #2: Eating clock (yes CLOCK) with an offense that doesn't try to score within 2-3 minutes. #3: Use a well-coached kicking game to influence field position to make the pass-happy offense go the length of the field. Oddly, and perhaps boringly--all of these are things that this coaching staff preaches.
  10. Students and young alumni sections were great, and pretty full.
  11. We don't eat anything but the sandwiches. Made to order and quite good.
  12. Wanted to give this a nod, also... Hooligan's--the Reuben and Cuban sandwiches are as good as you'll find in Denton.
  13. I would like to try Sabrocita again, actually. Their tortillas are good, for sure, machine or not. If you get to Estrella, make sure to let us know how it was.
  14. Agree about TL. Heard rave reviews about it for a while. Have been in there 4 times. It was always just ok. I have tried most of the taco places on Taco Alley (McKinney St.) now--with the caveat that I have not tried Sabrocita--and so far, La Estrella is at the top of the list. TL lost a lot of luster when I discovered they were not making their tortillas. EDIT--I am mistaken. I have been to Sabrocita twice. Tortillas are legit. Barbacoa was VERY disappointing the time I went. Carnitas were not much better. I probably caught them on a bad day, but have not been able to get my wife to go back.
  15. I don't believe that's the case for a second.
  16. I think you are missing my point. No coach is going to start or keep playing a player that will not work as hard or harder than his teammates or the next guy. No coach will start or keep playing a player unless that player guts it up and does what everybody else is doing to get better and make plays--UNLESS that player is so good that he succeeds in spite of lack of development/lack of discipline to be a better player or doesn't work as expected. No coach who wants to coach successfully will do this. Eras come and go. There are some constants, and that's one of them.
  17. So, are you saying that we should love the one we're with? Is love all we need?
  18. Until players buy in, and put in the work required to get better--all the time--and display the attitude desired as a leader, they are not going to start.. Could this simply be the case--as has been mentioned over and over and over and over and over and over and over again?
  19. Please post more often. Not even kidding. Please.
