  1. You don't know what you're talking about, Kreskin. Luckily your QB wasnt injured worse because of your tight end--because his ass was beaten on the play--tripping our player into his own man. Now go on and see if you can help out with that sinkhole down in Mulberry, and haul your troll ass out of here.
  2. I thought sound from scoreboard was better than game 1. BTW--whoever came up with the idea of the big screen/patio area in the wingzone--brilliant!
  3. Our HS band performed at a couple of "band days". It was probably 1980 or so, and I guess it was SMU, because it was at Texas Stadium.
  4. Nice to see OD in there, but I think their logo is not even top 50. If UNT will leave their logo alone, I believe it *will* be on a top 25 list at some point. The current diving SOW is great. It has potential to become iconic. Agree with a lot of the list otherwise.
  5. I think you're confusing with Galen Hall. Prior to his becoming HC at Florida, his family had made a lot of money selling cough drops. Yeah, the big flavor was Mentho-Lyptus, but actually, his favorite were the Breezers "Pectin" flavor, which had a sort of citrus taste. I think the whole Orange/Florida/Gatorade confusion started there.
  6. Beer was $3. Water and sodas were $1. Our first time there, with my newly-minted UNT grad wife. The band was good, and the food was good too. Wife really enjoyed it, which was a good thing. We'll definitely be back.
  7. They have nothing on Tech or Pig fan.
  8. Good take from FFR. I will add that I thought Morris was hesitant at times, and missed a couple of seam routes that were wide open, but I think that the WRs had a lot of trouble getting separation. Morris has some zip on the ball. Not seeing comparisons to AM as accurate. You have to be able to run the football effectively when necessary. You have to stop the run effectively, and have to contain a mobile QB. Didn't happen last night. If those things are an issue, then Let It Fly is impossible. But I've beaten that horse for years, so I'll let it go. Just hope this isn't Dodgeball over again. Kicking game looked good. Good return by Buyers last night. Hope to see improvement from week 1 to 2, but will be hard to get a true read until week 3.
  9. Somebody left a dollar and an energy drink. LOLZ...
  10. From a boat on Degray Lake in Arkansas:
  11. I believe Beth Marie's is still going to be there. Can't speak for Metzler's.
  12. Yeah, I estimated it at around 5500 a couple years ago, but that might be a bit high.
  13. Sure he can. Kids do it all the time. I would encourage him to take any "core" stuff at nctc and transfer it to UNT. It'll save him a lot of $.
  14. I have had poor service there before, as well. We have stuck to narrow choices though, and so far, so good.
  15. Hoochie's--yes, legit. Has moved to our favorite place for fried seafood in Denton. Have not noticed creepiness there. I have been to La Sabrocita twice, and hesitate to go back. The carnitas we got there were the worst I have ever had--bar none. Tortillas were ok, and pastor was ok. Again, this was probably 3 years ago, so I'm sure I owe them another visit. I am going to throw out Taqueria Monterrey on Mayhill behind Dickey's, right in the corner of the shopping strip there. Although I still favor La Estrella on Taco Alley (McKinney Street), this place is good. Plenty good. Tortas are ok. Taco's are very very good, and service is fast and plenty of seating. Several agua's fresca, and all the fountain/bottled drinks you want. Reuben sandwich? Believe it or not, Hooligan's is where we go for these. Also--one of the best burgers in Denton County is at Ranchman's in Ponder. When we go there, I order a burger--forget steak. Root beer: Mr. Frosty. Beer: Oak street establishments. If your wife likes fruity frozen drinks, go to Red Lobster (I'm not kidding) and have her order a Bahama Mama. She will try to order a second. You? Order Sam Adams Lager on tap in the tall glass. You're welcome.
  16. Thanks guys. Have tried those avenues, and received good suggestions, but the Alumni folks don't have any more at the moment. I snagged one on the Bay, and it's on it's way to Denton. Thanks again.
  17. You are the man. Appreciate it, DG!
  18. Posting this here for max eyeballs. My wife graduated UNT in May, and I'm trying to find one of these for her car. I have reached dead ends with the Alumni folks (don't have any more) and bookstore doesn't have them either from what I've been able to determine by calling them/online snooping. I will pay for one, if someone has one to sell! Mods--feel free to move if this isn't the place... Thanks!
  19. Honda, FTW.
  20. All things must pass. EDIT: Except option teams.
  21. TBH, I think the "founded in 1890" bit is genius and a long time coming. It speaks to tradition, history, and legitimacy as an institution.
