  1. The Ball State game was the best, hardest hitting game I've seen played yet at Apogee.
  2. Kudo's to CNN on this one... http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/three-resign-from-cnn-after-russia-story-retraction/ar-BBDiEMf?li=BBnb7Kz
  3. They're kids who don't know what they don't know, and want attention. It's telling that some of them "walked out" before hearing opinions and dialogue from others at the meeting.
  4. It's a great read. Thanks for linking. I personally believe that print media has essentially been killed by the internet and instant "news" available on websites that any cretin with an internet connection can put up. Journalistic integrity is pretty much gone, because of ad $ generated from clicks. The more sensational the article, the more clicks, and who cares if it's half-true or not properly vetted? We'll just post a retraction or "correction" later. Maybe.
  5. I thought the same thing. The above definitely looks like it "inspired" the FAU helmets. FWIW, I like the new FAU helmet better than the owl logo. Impossible to tell what that was from a distance. However, they are both degrees of "bad". One is less bad.
  6. Pretty sure they've worn those before.
  7. I love these. This column in the DRC has nuggets of gold occasionally, and has for years.
  8. My argument? I guess it's that human beings can be influenced to fudge based on the fact that they are human beings and with all being human implies, and I think that's what the article makes clear. Whether one is a scientist or a mechanic does not change that behavior, and it's why there should always be skepticism (IMO) when federal $ is involved or when personal gain or fame is involved. You may not agree, and that's ok.
  9. I think what you describe goes without saying. What I'm saying is that humans--being what they are--can be influenced, and their status or stature doesn't free them from scrutiny.
  10. I think consequences depend on where the $ is going and coming from. Healthy skepticism of conclusions drawn by anyone is a good thing. When $ and influence are involved, even a better thing.
  11. ...doesn't necessarily make it true. Imagine that. https://www-wired-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.wired.com/story/scientist-screwed-up-try-researcher-rehab/amp
  12. For sure. Would *love* to see UNT with a "problem" like this...
  13. Preach. No reason to get your jimmie's rustled over it.
  14. "Hell no...I'm not going to candy this thing up. These are work clothes."
  15. The more Texas teams in here, the better. If it happens--and I'm 99% sure it will--its a great series for UNT.
  16. Their garbage program needs to be whipped into their place, eh? Wow, aren't we awesome.
  17. Want to see the defense and the WR corps. OL will be a concern, but I'm hopeful.
  18. Why don't you go back to haunting the old hallways and quit coming on here and spouting your damnable reason?
  19. Texas Tech (among others) schedules a punching bag at home every year. And every year we moan about the punching bag on UNT's schedule.
