Under Seth Littrell, UNT is now 6-1 in one score games
LongJim replied to NorthTexan95's topic in Mean Green Football
To some fans, that's a sign of a "less bad" team--or one of relative suck--instead of a team doing what is necessary to win. Ah but at GMG folks damn a 5-1 conference record with faint praise qualifications. -
Great win against a beat up but always tough LT team. Not a big fan of all the draws using Fine, but I guess Harrell saw something he wanted to attack. Congrats to the MG for a gutty win. Chance for this team to run the West table.

Go ahead and ban bump stocks. I'm all for it. It will be ineffective and won't matter. Where was security at the hotel? How does a guy sneak that much firepower upstairs in a city with probably the most video surveillance in the world? Why was the concert essentially in a kill zone? The problem with this type of knee-jerk response is that the cat is already out of the bag. The gate is open and the cattle ain't coming back. Root cause. Until that's dealt with, this type of thing will continue until the end of time. -
Hopefully the DRC will resume coverage of my Northwest Texans (Go Big Red) as they previously did. Since NISD is the largest ISD in Denton County. Not sure what happened there, but very strange that DRC does not cover their sports or anything else.

No, unfortunately.

A couple of special teams breakdowns, but a couple of special teams big plays. Fine is the best QB UNT has had in over a decade. Nic Smith stepped up. Defense made plays when it had to.

Need to settle down and hold them to a field goal. ODU can't stop UNTs offense.

Updated Audacity Bulletproof Label (football theme)

Very sad that Audacity is shutting down. That said, I did not care for their flagship brew, but enjoyed Sunset offering. -

I really should avoid excessive brevity in my comments. Your sarcasm--though misplaced--is noted, though. -

Legit Question (Not Getting Ahead of Myself)
LongJim replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
To get semi-serious for a minute--the biggest difference I see in this year's team is that you have a QB with another year in the system and with obvious time in the film room and extra practice with his receivers. Second, this team may have more playmakers at skill positions than at any time in at least the last decade. Multiple legitimate playmakers at receiver being the biggest key. Defense is serviceable, and I think will be even better when totally healthy. Lastly, the team has buy-in, and culture appears to have shifted to one of expectation of success. Is it possible to run the table? Possible. I'm not sure it's probable. If defense can tighten up some and Fine can stay healthy, it will be fun to watch what plays out. -
