  1. Though-provoking comment I read about the subject: ************************************************** "The entire premise of being offended by "The Eyes of Texas" was ridiculous from the start, regardless of the findings of the committee. From 1883 - 1956, the University of Texas banned people of color from attending the university. And then once on campus, put them into segregated housing & seating, while also banning them from representing the university in athletics until 1970....going so far as threatening to cancel games against schools that had blacks on their team. The university also permitted and provided the facilities for minstrel shows on campus until 1965, 10 years AFTER the university was desegregated. What's more racist--banning people from an education for 73 years, then subjecting them to second class treatment for another 14+ years once on campus...or possibly singing a song in black face at a UT sponsored minstrel show 118 years ago? If The University of Texas has been whitewashed from an unquestionable racist & frankly, evil, past...why isn't "The Eyes of Texas" likewise whitewashed, when it has 1/100,000th the connection to racism of the university itself...AND...it's connection is brief and 118 years old?"
  2. There is some interesting data you can google up for yourself that compares Florida and California on a timeline with lockdowns and masks and how infections rose/didn't rise, etc. It's interesting, and people have differing views on what the data really suggests.
  3. This. All day. This, and the ability to say: "Your suit is without merit." HEB is handling it perfectly, IMO. They have their employees masked for the conformation and comfort effect it provides, and strongly encourage the shopper to mask up
  4. Will see how this plays out, but this is crazy if true. https://apnews.com/press-release/pr-newswire/business-race-and-ethnicity-marketing-and-advertising-corporate-news-human-rights-and-civil-liberties-e396a972fe5d743421ce3cfc1ac5bbf0
  5. Props to the student for attempting to overcome his addiction. The social-validation feedback loop is hard to escape.
  6. You go, girl? https://nypost.com/2021/02/26/woman-wears-her-own-thong-as-mask-in-grocery-store/
  7. In guitar parlance, Tobe was cutting heads.
  8. Not even remotely knowledgeable about rap, but very obvious that Tobe is talented and thoughtful. Love his attitude and message. He crushed that guy in the Sway video.
  9. Interesting info regarding possible herd immunity soon. Hopefully it'll be accurate. Herd Immunity By April? (Also--the NYT is a joke)
  10. Did you tell her to concentrate on her ironing? 😉
  11. Bucs whipped that ass. The end.
  12. I like to check out that chart from time to time. Of course, any chart/list like that can't be perfectly objective, but they're neat to take a look at to measure one's own bias, I guess. EDIT: Almost forgot. The NYT is a joke.
  13. Great song. RIP Pat DiNizio.
  14. Hard to overstate how big of a deal it was when he hit 715. Huge. IIRC, the networks broke in to inform the nation. RIP.
  15. Yeah, you're probably right. He saw that he wasn't going to play much at UNT. He will definitely get more playing time at UMASS if he lands there. *I* might see some playing time at UMASS.
  16. Wasn't he injured for most of the year, or need surgery for a knee or something?
  17. Yeah, I saw that. Off the top of your head. Good deal. Ok, thanks for the tip.
  18. So nobody specific. Just "anyone but Littrell". Fair enough. No. Not at this time.
