Functional adults are entitled to bodily autonomy, in my opinion. I may not agree with decisions made by them as to how they use this autonomy. But long may they wave.

I agree that it's not intentionally discriminatory. However the unintended consequences suggested in the article are worth considering: "Banning menthol is now pitched as a social justice issue, but if we take the stated preferences of menthol smokers seriously, the racial politics cut the other way. White smokers would remain free to purchase the unflavored cigarettes that most of them currently consume, while black smokers would be paternalistically forbidden from exercising their own desires and subjected to policing of illicit markets if they try to fulfill them. No. I was simply amused by the tack of the two articles. One suggests the ban benefits the health of minority folks (whether they want or like it or not, of course). The other that the result of the ban will be increased hassle of minorities, and that the ban is essentially discriminatory.

I agree with your post, but there are other viable parties. People just have to vote for them and stop voting for 1 side of the same coin. But now we're entering political territory again, so I'm out.

Sleepy town, but growing crazy fast. Schools are very good. Some of the best in the state. A couple of "old Justin" businesses are still around. Adams Furniture and Justin Discount Boots being two of the remaining ones. A couple of pretty decent restaurants and nice city park. Justin Family Medical is a small clinic with a huge clientele, and they have good PA's there. Used to be a great place to raise a family, but I haven't lived there in many years, though I visit fairly often. You have pretty good access to DFW and Denton via 156, 114, and I35W, but are far enough away from the interstate to feel like you're out in the country some.

Yeah. At this point, it's old schtick, because it's the second year in a row she's done this. I mean, I admire her modesty, I guess, but the award is subjective, and to me it rings false. Just stay home next time if you don't want to be honored. But, I guess she thinks she's sticking it to the Grammy's. I think she's just embarrassing the also-rans, and grabbing more headlines. Possibly unintentionally.
