  1. TBH, I've often wondered why a bowl game couldn't be played at Apogee. The Paccar Big Rig Bowl. The Sally Beauty Bowl. The Albertsons/Safeway Bowl.
  2. Keep in mind that this is YOUR MONEY. I have bolded some text. "Jeremy Sheridan, who directs the office of investigations at the Secret Service, called it "the largest fraud scheme that I've ever encountered." "Due to the volume and pace at which these funds were made available and a lot of the requirements that were lifted in order to release them, criminals seized on that opportunity and were very, very successful — and continue to be successful," he said. While the enormous scope of Covid relief fraud has been clear for some time, scant attention has been paid to the role of organized foreign criminal groups, who move taxpayer money overseas via laundering schemes involving payment apps and "money mules," law enforcement officials said. "This is like letting people just walk right into Fort Knox and take the gold, and nobody even asked any questions," said Blake Hall, the CEO of ID.me, which has contracts with 27 states to verify identities." Government Cannot Be Trusted With Your Money. Ever.
  3. Exactly. And I love Mason Fine, but his receiver corps was arguably the best that has ever played at UNT.
  4. Exactly. BS both times IMO.
  5. BYU didn't want to be there.
  6. Looks like UNT's bowl swag is still being finalized. Details
  7. Concepts such as "intent", and "context" are now often willfully ignored if not convenient to the sensibilities of the person claiming offense.
  8. For sure. Whatever one might think about his magazine, it definitely is the "bible" for Texas HS football.
  9. Maybe there will be a bootlegger selling shirts after the show game. They usually have the best shirts anyway.
  10. That's the best Cameo video I've seen.
  11. Yeah, I don't get the "ethics" thing either. I mean--I *get* it, but one can't be ok with NIL and then have a problem with a coach bolting. Regarding Riley--he had built a successful pipeline to the west coast and southwest for OU. I think he may have felt that maintaining it would be easier with a PAC12 team than with an SEC bound OU. Just speculating though.
  12. What about "the little death"?
  13. Yeah, but he's still a TSA "agent".
  14. Generally, I agree with you, but the starters should all have been pulled in the third when the clock was running, IMO. Plus, you hand the ball off. You don't keep throwing.
  15. Not to derail this thread--Tutt was great. RIP. Wanted to also throw out there that UNT has produced some great drummers over the years. I got to see Keith Carlock with Steely Dan a few years ago. Some fantastic talents from the UNT music school.
  16. Meh. There's a grand tradition of Olympics held in countries ruled by ruthless, genocidal dictators. Looks like we're on schedule.
  17. Couldn't agree more. I think this is the best possible outcome for UNT as far as landing spots go. A lot of folks were on the MWC bandwagon, but I've never felt like that was a good home for UNT unless the move could have been made with a couple of other Texas travel partners. Even then, I thought it was a lateral move at best, for $ and recruiting reasons. TBH, I'm kind of excited about UNT being in a conference with Wichita State. They have skins on the wall in both basketball and baseball, and I think a lot of folks are unaware of how good they historically are in those sports. Obviously there may be some more dominoes that fall, but this is a great outcome in my book.
  18. I'd give you 100 likes for this post if I could. It's bizarre.
  19. It's a money-suck. I'd love to see it at some point, but now is not the time, IMO.
