  1. Well the Mean Green are now listed. #97 North Texas Mean Green After ruling the Sun Belt for a few years, the Mean Green hit rock bottom. Now they are on their way back, although the gap between North Texas and the top 2 teams in the conference is probably wider than the gap between them and being dead last. That might sound odd to say about a team that was 2-10 last year, and 5-31 over the past 3. However, North Texas lost to Alabama by 46, Middle Tennessee by 16, Troy by 24 nd UL Monroe by 27. In their other 8, they were 2-6, with their 6 losses by an average of 4 points per game, one in overtime, and the largest margin of defeat was 7. With 10 starters returning on offense and 8 on defense that should be the type of experience to get North Texas on top in those close games. Offensive Leaders: RB Lance Dunbar, Junior WR Jamaal Jackson, Senior OT Esteban Santiago, Senior Defensive Leaders: DE Brandon Akpunku, Junior LB Craig Robertson, Senior CB Royce Hill, Junior Conference Rating: #3 in Sun Belt
  2. OK, slow time. FWIW ELA has been posting his rankings for several years. Here's the thread thus far from the WAC board. 13. It would be nice if folks would kinda stop looking for something to bitch about and pull together occasionally. A lotta folks would like to have a team to back that is doing as good as this one. Look at how the other teams in the metroplex are doing. TCU,SMU and UTA are in UNTs rear view mirror. This team is definately in the hunt for a berth in the Dance and on the way to their best conference record since being in the Belt.

North Texas receivers: The Mean Green struggled last year, but return their top six receivers and add Oklahoma transfer Tyler Stradford, who was the offensive scout team player of the year last year while sitting out, and junior college transfer Christopher Bynes. But finding the go-to receiver will be a chore this spring and into fall camp.
