  1. it was posted some time back that NT with have 8 televised games this season. http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/061213aad.html
  2. Careful, just quoting an outside source that isn't negative toward the mean Green will bring an accusation that you are a sunshine pumper.
  3. OK, here's another rating system for the doom and gloom folks to throw rocks at. It's looking like a potential breakthrough season for North Texas but everything has to go just right. The Mean Green should beat Idaho pretty easily in the opener and they've got a good shot at Ohio but we favor the Bobcats there. Over the next four games they could go 3-1 or 0-4; we make them slight favorites over Ball State, Tulane, and MTSUand of course huge underdogs at Georgia. North Texas could conceivably be 5-1 at the mid-point, though 4-2 or 3-3 is a more realistic expectation. The next two games depend more on the opponent, i.e. will Louisiana Tech take a big slide as expected this year? And, will Southern Miss bounce back? In both cases we think the edge goes to North Texas but both are road games so the opponents' state of affairs will determine the outcomes. In the last four games, the Green should beat both UTEP and UTSA while Rice and Tulsa will be tough. Game-by-game that's 8-4, and the cumulative odds are right between 6-6 and 7-5. No matter how you slice it they should be bowl-eligible, and if they get C-USA's 5th tie-in (they're neck-and-neck with MTSU but "win" the head-to-head) that would be the Hawaii Bowl against a Mountain West team, possibly Boise State or San Diego State. If not, they'd have to find a fill-in slot somewhere else 8/31 Sat vs. Idaho 98% W 9/7 Sat @ Ohio 43% L 9/14 Sat vs. Ball State 55% W 9/21 Sat @ Georgia 1% L 10/5 Sat @ *Tulane 56% W 10/12 Sat vs. *M. 4. Don't believe that anyone would ever think considering you as of you as a sunshine pumper, maybe a Negative Norris, but never a sunshine pumper
  5. 7-4 vs 9-2, big deal. 2 games off still would be a 7-5 season. Guess the thought/possibility of a good Mean Green season is too much for you to handle.

  9. Surprised at their prediction. Scroll down for past predictions/results & they have been fairly close on North Texas over the years. Excerpt from CUSA conference prediction. North Texas' forecast is particularly worth watching as the computer's preseason forecast has nailed the Mean Green record 10 times since 1995, including 4 years straight from 2007-2010. It has only missed its mark by 1 game on 5 other occasions, including the last 2 years. UNT hasn't been picked to do this well since 2004 when a 9-2 forecast became a 7-4 reality. The program hasn't been predicted to win, and has not won, more than 5 games in a season since then. http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/analysis_cusa_ntex.html
  10. Louisiana Tech had the worst pass defense in the country last year. Ranked #120 our of 120. What will he do against someone that actually has a defense ? Time will tell.
  11. The NCAA Equity in Athletics site had our budget at $20,402,052 for the fiscal year 9/1/11-8/31/12. The budget for the period ending 8/31/13 won't be posted for a couple of months.
  12. Just for kicks, HS senior year comparisons: Williams -passed for 1,977 yds, 25 TDs, 8 ints. Rushed for 508 Yds & 5 TDs Berglund - passed for 2,150 yds, 23TDs, 5 ints. Rushed for 965 Yds & 9 TDs
  13. Agree with Rick on this. No real evidence, just unsupported allegations so far. Just because someone reported it, doesn't actually make it so........... Gotta prove it first.

  15. And we have all time winning records vs both Louisville (10-7) and Cincy (9-7-1) thanks to our years with them in the MVC.

  19. Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today that the conference has secured future relationships with ESPN Regional Television (ERT), a subsidiary of ESPN, to participate in five different bowl games over the next six years, securing three bowl positions per season. The agreements are with four ESPN owned and operated bowls: the Beef `O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg, Fla., Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas, Gildan New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque and the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl in Honolulu, as well as the Heart of Dallas Bowl presented by PlainsCapital Bank. These partnerships will include games following the 2014-2019 seasons and C-USA will participate in three of the five games each year. "We are excited to announce new and extended bowl relationships with ESPN as we continue to build our future bowl lineup," Banowsky said. "ESPN does a tremendous job of hosting bowl games in amazing destinations and we are fortunate to have some great matchups in those games until 2020." Conference USA will play a bowl game in North Texas each of the next six years, playing in the Heart of Dallas Bowl as well as the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl over thatperiod. It will also participate in the Beef `O' Brady's Bowl and the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl three times each over the six-year span. C-USA will play in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl on an annual basis for all six years. In these bowls, Conference USA will have the opportunity to face opponents from the ACC, American Athletic, Big 12, Big Ten and Mountain West Conferences. 23. So Withers940 attended a close scrimmage ? Interesting.
  24. Since a very vocal group here apparently have absolutely no confidence in coach Mac's decisions, who will start the first "fire Mac" thread ?
  25. Hope you have knee pads cause you sure spend a lot of time in your FroggyStyle position.
