UL-Lafayette: Our sources tell us that certain ULL coaches are expecting to be out of job following the season. The Ragin Cajuns are 2-8. We are getting conflicting reports whether ULL will go after USC assistant Ed Orgeron, if a change is made with Rickey Bustle. One source tells us ULL would be willing to pay Orgeron in the $425,000 range. North Texas: We are hearing that Mike Canales really wants the job. Canales attended the Student Government Association meeting this week to rally students. You have your opinion and I have mine........ let's leave it at that.

i beleive that Fran or Leavitt would probably come here wanting to repair their image and move on as soon as possible to a higher profile, more lucrative program. Canales may view it a little differently and have more attachment to UNT with it being his first head coaching gig........... but who knows ?

Hopefully, but who knows ?

Thus far Canales seems to be the type that can really connect with folks. A huge asset when selling the program to recruits and fans. Plus he can coach.
