  1. EXERPT What It All Means: The offense isnt making mistakes and Lance Dunbar is playing like a possible Sun Belt Player of the Year as hes carrying the team down the stretch. Bowl eligibility is gone after last week, but the team is playing better over the last three weeks than it has over the last few years. Now its time to screw some teams up, and the Mean Green can do that at ULM next week before finishing up against Kansas State. If the offense can stay error-free and Riley Dodge can get the passing game going to offset Dunbar, theres a shot to end strong. College Football News http://cfn.scout.com/2/557690.html
  2. EXERPTS THE GOOD FIU is in the driver’s seat for the Sun Belt after beating Troy for the first time in school history. FAU (4-5) has won three straight, and got its third one-point win of the season, 24-21 against Louisiana. North Texas has gone over 400 yards of total offense in all three games under interim head coach Mike Canales after only eclipsing that mark three times in the first seven games this season before he took over. THE HEARTACHE Arkansas State was 4-5 heading into its game against Western Kentucky, with bowl hopes on the line. The Red Wolves erased a 21-7 halftime deficit and led 28-21 with 54 seconds left. But a bad snap in punt formation gave Western Kentucky the ball deep inside Arkansas State territory. Willie McNeal caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Kawaun Jakes with no time left to send the game into overtime. Western Kentucky won it 36-35 when defensive back Derrius Brooks scored on a 2-point conversion on a reverse. Arkansas State coach Steve Roberts had no explanation for the botched snap. Arkansas State finishes up at Navy and FIU. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/32874/page/weekend-rewind/non-aq-weekend-rewind-11

  7. UL-Lafayette: Our sources tell us that certain ULL coaches are expecting to be out of job following the season. The Ragin Cajuns are 2-8. We are getting conflicting reports whether ULL will go after USC assistant Ed Orgeron, if a change is made with Rickey Bustle. One source tells us ULL would be willing to pay Orgeron in the $425,000 range. Another source tells us Orgeron would not consider leaving USC for the position if approached by ULL. http://www.footballscoop.com/the-scoop
  8. So DeLoach should go if Canales gets the job ?

  11. North Texas: We are hearing that Mike Canales really wants the job. Canales attended the Student Government Association meeting this week to rally students. There is a lot of enthusiasm about Canales on campus in Denton. Our sources tell us that Jim Leavitt is indeed under consideration as well. http://www.footballscoop.com/the-scoop

  18. And Coker is a cheap hire for them at $200,000.
  19. publicity doesn't win ball games and Coker hasn't put a team on the field since Miami.
  20. You have your opinion and I have mine........ let's leave it at that.
  21. i beleive that Fran or Leavitt would probably come here wanting to repair their image and move on as soon as possible to a higher profile, more lucrative program. Canales may view it a little differently and have more attachment to UNT with it being his first head coaching gig........... but who knows ?
  22. Hopefully, but who knows ?
  23. Thus far Canales seems to be the type that can really connect with folks. A huge asset when selling the program to recruits and fans. Plus he can coach.
