The NCAA has formally charged Central Florida with multiple recruiting violations involving at least three high-profile athletes who have signed with UCF this year — including the jewel of the incoming recruiting class in football, four-star quarterback DaMarcus Smith of Louisville, Ky. According to a New York Times report in April, Smith and a pair of unlikely basketball recruits from Atlanta and Indianapolis, respectively, all wound up in Orlando via the same middle man: Kenneth Caldwell, a 42-year-old Chicago resident with "a substantial criminal record" and "apparent ties to a prominent sports agency." Despite that news, another step was taken toward the Aggies ultimately moving away from the Big 12 Conference. That step occurred later Monday afternoon when A&M regents unanimously voted to give president Bowen Loftin the power to deal with conference alignment. http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/college-sports/texas-aggies/20110815-am-regents-give-president-loftin-power-to-deal-with-conference-realignment.ece

Conference USA - What It Is East – East Carolina, Marshall, Memphis, Southern Miss, UAB, UCF West – Houston, Rice, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, UTEP The 2014 Version Will Probably Be … East - Arkansas State, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Memphis, Western Kentucky West - Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Troy, Tulane, UAB. ULM It’s not going to be pretty. Conference USA will suffer from geography, with the Big 12 stealing away the Texas teams, the ACC wanting UCF, and the Big East looking to fill out the roster with some of the eastern programs. There’s only one place to go: the Sun Belt. Getting Florida Atlantic and FIU would ease the pain of losing UCF and would keep a presence in Florida. Taking Louisiana Tech away from the WAC is a given, and rivalries can quickly be formed with Louisiana-Lafayette and ULM, while adding Troy would create a wee bit of a buzz and a rival for UAB. There might not be any power programs in the conference, but it would be competitive and entertaining. 2014 Conferences http://cfn.scout.com/2/1095334.html

Don't know his position, but a Tommy Nelson shows to be a letter winner in 1971.

Coach Mac said "you can't play like champions unless you practice like champions".

Yep, it's early but why not ? Mean Green 31 FIU 28 FIU crowds the line because of Dunbar allowing Thompson to pull the trigger on some key passes. Mean Green D plays with confidence and bends but does not break.

Thank gawd the flag football mentality is gone. Just what we need. A huffin, puffin, slobberknocker, take no prisoners attitude with our guys wearing combat boots and not ballerina shoes in the trenches.

Opening Vegas line has the Mean Green at minus 14. Vito sez, as he predicted, UNT is a "huge" underdog in the season opener. I beleive that UNT will beat the spread and actually has a chance to deliver a surprise to pundits. What do you think ?
